July 2016 Members all: Convention has come and gone for another year. The Weather cooperated, and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Nick Figaro and his Convention Committee for their efforts. Ed Foster and FXC had the marchers doing their best, capturing a State award for appearance. Jane Figaro keeps coming up with great Theme parties, however I cannot get used to Elks capturing their Feminine side. Ginger, as always, is our 50/50 Girl. She could sell snow to a Eskimo. Looking forward to next year!! June 11th was “TRIPLE CROWN DAY “ by Bill Nicholls and his Vets Committee. Kids had a great time! Thanks to Don Defosse, Al Smith, and Nick Figaro for their help. Good job Bill! Flag day on 6/12 was well attended. Thank you Officers for for a an uplifting service to Bill Nicholls and FXC for their Orations, and the Ladies for providing food.Special thank you - Dan Maloney who does this year after year-and maintains its solemnity and Dignity. The Ladies had a “SIP AND PAINT “event on 6/18, which was well attended.Well done Melissa and Liz and all the Ladies. I offered to pose for free-but had no takers-wonder why? FXC and team continued the FATHERS DAY SOFTBALL TRADITION. Final score is subject to review, and is unclear at this time. No injuries, except to egos! Good job Fran. Motorcycle Committee had a Benefit on 6/26 to help a young person in need. It seemed like every member of the Committee attended! Congrats to Charlie Graham, Rich Jaeger and entire Committee and their Ladies for a great show of support for some one in need. Also, on 6/26, Mike Veth and Committee, had its “CHRISTMAS IN JUNE PARTY “ at the Keansburg Boardwalk. ANNUAL FATHER’S DAYSOFTBALL GAME

THANK YOUThanks to all who came out to our Annual Father’s Day Softball Game for all of our Absent Ball Players. It was a lot of fun. We had a great turn out. Roche made a fabulous catch at home plate but had no one to tag. Sean Corridon (The Elder) fell on the mount trying to catch a grounder. Johnny Dez pitched a 20 hitter. I forgot the score. We then went back to the Elks were Fran had hot dogs, hamburgers and beer. Hope to see you next year. P.S. Timmy, next year go out for lunch instead of breakfast. We missed you.

Hello Ladies,Summer is finally upon us and I hope everyone is enjoying it so far. Convention was a lot of fun and I want to thank all the ladies who tended bar. You guys are great! Kelly’s was great as always, I still am shocked by the cheers that came out of Michelle Fairhurst!!! LOL I would also like to thank all the ladies who made food for Flag Day. Everything was great and you guys out did yourselves! I really would like to thank Fran Duffy who was behind all of this and worked her butt off to make this day a success. You did good Fran! We had our first “Sip and Paint” on June 18th and it was a blast!! Over 40 people attended and fun was had by all. Defi-nitely a keeper! I want to thank Liz Revill For all of the hard work she put into this event! Thank you again! On July 10th we are having Steal Bingo. If you haven’t got your ticket yet please see Edna or Mary Bryk. I want to also thank Lisa Hahn for sell-ing our pick threes for Fourth of July. Our next one goes off in November. Remember, you have to be in it to win it so if you want tickets please see her. Our Woman of the Year dinner honoring Ginger Smith will be on July 16th at 6pm. Please see Lisa Hahn if you’re interested in coming. Remember there is no meeting for July and August. I want to wish everyone a safe and happy summer. See you at our September 28th meeting!Melissa Vanderzee
