Week of 8/31: Marine ScienceThis week’s resources support the on-air premiere of Big Blue Live on PBS (8/31) and enhance lessons on marine animals, plant life, and aquatic ecosystems.

Week of 9/7: Teaching the Civil WarTo mark the 150th anniversary the Civil War, we will highlight the notable figures/events from the era. NOTE: PBS will also air a remastered version of Ken Burns’ The Civil War from 9/7-11.

Week of 9/14: Arts in Education Week This theme supports National Arts in Education Week (9/13-15) by showcasing resources that help teachers infuse the creative arts into their curriculum.

Week of 9/21: Conservation in the Wild This week’s resources support the on-air premiere of Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise on PBS (9/22) and enhance lessons on environmental science, wildlife, and conservation.

Week of 9/28: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, we will spotlight new galleries of Spanish language content alongside a rich collection of resources about Hispanic history and culture.

NOTE: “Back to School” messaging will extend through 9/15. NOTE: The Emperor Science Awards will receive ongoing promotion from 9/1-11/1.

Week of 10/12: The Science of the Brain This week’s resources support the on-air premiere of The Brain with Dr. David Eagleman (10/14) and enhance lessons on topics ranging from neuroscience to sports concussions.

Week of 10/19: Math Blast!These featured math resources offer teachers a range of creative “hooks” to get students engaged with core math concepts and highlight their relevance to everyday life.

Week of 10/26: Halloween SpooktacularThis week’s featured resources offers teachers an easy way to integrate Halloween themes into their math, language arts, and science lessons all week long!
