Palm Beach Day Academy was founded with the intention of preparing boys and girls to live a life of leadership, intellectual curiosity, and service to their community. Now, more than 96 years later, we continue to be guided by this vision. When we reflect on our great progress over the past year, we are excited by our community’s extraordinary support and look forward to our brilliant future. We are profoundly grateful for your gifts which will ensure our progress and continue our growth, as we push forward with great momentum in the year ahead with our new vision, Agenda for the Future: Strategic Priorities for 2016-2019, including advancing academic priorities; supporting our faculty’s professional growth and development; enhancing our campus facilities; and strengthening partnerships between students and faculty on both campuses and with existing partners outside of PBDA.

Palm Beach Day Academy remains financially secure. With your support and the commitment of the faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees, we have made exceptional progress across many areas including admissions, academics, secondary school placement, and fundraising, to name a few. Palm Beach Day acaDemy Revenue

Your gifts to our school support the people and programs that make Palm Beach Day Academy so special. That includes talented teachers, rigorous academic programs, visual and performing arts, athletic teams,

professional development and the maintenance of our existing facilities and grounds. Philanthropic gifts also provide financial assistance to qualified students.

While your child is at Palm Beach Day Academy, your support translates into more personal attention, increased intellectual stimulation, leadership skills, and critical thinking skills. In the future, it will mean greater credibility behind the solid academic foundation your child will carry throughout life.

Palm Beach Day Academy is a strong family of parents and educators that work together for the benefit of each child. We definitely are better because our parents work with us as volunteers to further our mission another 95 years into the future. Annual FundUnder the leadership of Stephanie Carden and Lourdes Fanjul, contributions were received from trustees, current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, foundations, administrators, teachers, staff and friends. We were proud to announce that 87% of our parents supported the Annual Fund and 100% of our faculty, staff and administrators contributed to the operating expenses of the school.

Fundraising EventsThe 21st Annual Walter H. Butler Golf Classic, chaired by Matthew Smith and Steve Smith, raised $60,000 net of expenses. Major Sponsors included Shoes For Crews, Austin and Steve Smith, Sterling Organization, SCS Financial, The Atwood Group - Merrill Lynch, and Kajaine Capital. Golf participants included parents, students, trustees, faculty, and community partners.

The 2017 Feather Ball was chaired by Mina Patel, Afsy Pottash, and Sandy Singer. The event netted $505,000, of which $124,000 was raised by Corporate Sponsorship Chairs Caroline Forrest and Chris Cook as well as the Corporate Sponsorship Committee

Leadership GiftsIn 2016-2017, we received two leadership gifts that funded our new STEAM Scholar in Residence Program. Families that contributed to this innovative program included Tony and Vanessa Beyer, as well as Randal and Alana Kirk.

David and Becky Gochman contributed to the initiation of a new Head of School Innovation and Creativity Fund.

Auxiliary ProgramsAuxiliary programs include fees for services such as lunch and bus programs, as well as school enrichment, aftercare, book fair and field trips.

As We Plan for the FutureAs we plan for the coming months and years into our future, we must continue to strive for financial stability, good financial management, and strong enrollment. We must rely on our dedicated Board of Trustees and a high level of financial giving on the part of all Palm Beach Day Academy Families.
