Now in its 25 th year, this event remains our signature outreach program and for the past 10 years, a coalition of companies has come together to provide essential financial support to keep these two weeks of Shakespeare performances free and accessible to everyone. Former Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, Jane Alexander, enthused about the Free For All’s importance to Washington: “There was a couple sitting next to me with a very, very young child, and I began to talk to them and I asked: ‘Why are you here?’ And they said, ‘Where else would we have the opportunity to introduce our child to Shakespeare and be able to afford it?’” We are writing to ask that you join Ameriprise, CoStar Group Inc., Douglas Development Corporation, Gould Property Company, JM Zell Partners, Inc. and The Washington Post in supporting this cornerstone of Washington’s cultural scene and this dynamic community outreach program. The Shakespeare Theatre Company Free For All has been a cherished Washington tradition of

performing and enjoying free Shakespeare for 25 years. The Free For All has been an enormous success,

attracting more than 650,000 people from throughout the Washington metropolitan area since the

inaugural performance in 1991. The 2015 free for all production will feature a remounting of ethan

Mcsweeny’s 2012-2013 production of a Midsummer night’s Dream from september 1 – 13, 2015.

• STC mainstage performances are attended by 190,000 patrons each year
