It is a great honour and privilege for me to have been elected as President of the Munster Branch for the coming season and to succeed the many greats who have preceded me as President.

To the Branch, Clubs, Schools and Associations, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent you as your President and I will do so to the best of my ability. To the officers and members of Bruff RFC, I say a big thank you for the honour you have bestowed on me, by nominating me as the 121st Branch President and the 1st from our club. Thanks to all my family, who have always been supportive and they too share in this great honour. Thanks to Gerry O’ Shea and Charlie Buckley, Immediate Past Presidents, for their help and advice in preparation for this role.

To all involved in our Domestic Game across the province, from Bantry to Scariff, Tralee to Waterford, male or female, I want to thank you on behalf of Munster Rugby. Whatever your role, administrator, coach, parent, player or supporter, your contribution is invaluable. Many thanks to all in the Rugby Development Department for their support.

We are grateful to the Munster Association of Referees for the continued high standard of refereeing and would ask clubs and schools to put forward potential referees to the MAR, to enable them to continue their good work.

Best wishes to Johann Van Graan, his coaches, management team and all the squad for the coming season. I think we have recruited well and have a competitive squad with an excellent management team.
