Our Lady of Fatima - Waikanae
St Patrick’s - Paraparaumu
Dear Parishioners
A Happy New Year!
John’s Gospel is the most developed of all the gospels which is why it has so many layers of meaning for our growth in discipleship.
The story of Cana is one such example. Michael Hayes puts it this way: ‘the more we delve into the deeper meanings of the story of Cana the more we learn who Jesus is and what God invites us to do.’
As our pastoral year gathers momentum, and as we reflect in particular on the implications of this Year of Mercy, may Mary’s words at Cana to the servants, ‘to do whatever he tells us,’ become the foundation for our own prayerful response to the call of Jesus.
With every blessing in Christ Michael McCabe, Parish Priest
Psalm Response: Proclaim his marvellous deeds to all the nations.
