As the Archbishop wrote, another Priest will be appointed to Noosa Parish as Parish Priest. The Archbishop will call for expressions of interest from Priests within the Archdiocese. Also there will be a Parish consultation (date still to be set) which will enable the Archbishop’s representatives to hear about the Parish and the kind of Pastor you would like to have as your Parish Priest. This Consultation meeting is important and I would ask as many people as possible to attend once the date has been set for Noosa Parish. I would like to add that I know that this news of my transfer is upsetting to some in the Parish. This is natural when priests leave a community and have been part of people’s lives for a long time. During this time of transition I will do my best to continue to serve Noosa Parish and prepare it for a new Parish Priest to begin in December this year. RUGFEST 2016: Anyone who attended RUGFEST 2016 would have been amazed at the dedication and commitment of the organizing committee and the many workers from the Parish, St Teresa’s College and the Filipino community. It was truly the biggest crowd we have ever had and the great news is we raised just over $6,500 for the Canossa Health and Social Centre run by the Canossa sisters (CHSC) located near the Tondo slums of Manila in the Philippines. The blessings that flow from the event will not only touch the Slums in Manila but all those who worked in this Parish to make the lives of others more bearable in a place of abject poverty. Parish Luncheon: The tickets for this event on the 6th August are selling fast and we only have limited seating left. Those who have booked through the office are asked to pick up their tickets and pay for them ASAP. Buy your tickets this weekend at the churches not to miss out. RUGFEST REPORT What a tremendous effort every one of you put in for the success of Rugfest 2016.

This year was bigger and many say better than ever and in being so brought many more challenges and much more work.

People, as they left, congratulated you all on the wonderful event, and praised the mighty effort providing lunch for 200 plus

whilst keeping the show going.

A big thank you firstly to the sewers who constructed the beautiful rugs, the very talented and generous people who made

and donated the extraordinary raffle prizes and those who gave us the Special prizes, the ladies who prepared the beautiful

Vintage napery, to all who help set up the hall so that it was transformed into a beautiful dining area. The men and women

who shifted the many loads of extra furniture and crockery down to the hall and then later on returned it. The cooks of the

beautiful nibblies, soups and sweets and the preserve makers. The lovely young students from St Teresa's, the helpers on

the day with absolute gratitude to the wonderful team who managed in the underequipped and inadequate kitchen to get the

meals out on time. As always, Father Mark, Michael and Elaine handled efficiently all the admin work.

Take a bow, everyone, and rest up and relax.

People loved it all and even threatened to bring more of their friends next time.

230 tickets were sold and you seated and fed 215 of them. Very well done!

There must be an easier way, we are all thinking. We must look to involve younger, fitter members of Noosa Parrish to do the

hard work. And to this end we will be working , welcoming any ideas and feedback that will not only maintain the high

standard of this event, but improve it.

I am sure the fruits of your hard work will be much appreciated by the Canossian Sisters as they continue their good work

with the children in the Tondo slums in Manila.

Again, congratulations on a very successful event and thank you for all the hard work,

Brenda Carlos
