• Groups 1 to 4 study the higher tier and groups 5 to 8 study the foundation tier
• Foundation awards grades 1 to 5 and higher grades 4 to 9
• Started the GCSE course in Year 9 and aiming to finish teaching content by end of November
• Structured revision programme; exam technique, improving problem solving and reasoning skills
• 3 mock papers in December – 1 non calculator paper and 2 calculator papers
• Personalised feedback during Year 11 consultation on 16th January 2018
Marking and homework expectations
• Teacher marks homework every two weeks using stamp
• Homework set every week, with formal written piece set every fortnight
• Drop-in lunchtime session run by sixth form mathematicians to support with homework
• Failure to complete adequately or hand in on time will results in a lunchtime detention
• Set on a Monday of weeks A and B
An effort rating from 1 to 4, 1 being excellent and 4 being poor. An attainment rating using RED, AMBER or GREEN that indicated the depth of knowledge and understanding the student has shown on the piece of work.
How to support their child?
• Short bursts of regular revision and review
• Encourage your child to attend any additional revision sessions that are put on
