Support Site Recycling Program Support Site residents are requested to continue working to improve waste segregation. Wet waste, also known as compost, is being segregated at a very low rate and needs everyone's attention. Wet waste includes food, soiled paper towels, tea bags, biodegradable kitty litter, and any other biodegradable item. When taking waste to the collection sites, please only put non-recyclable waste or non-segregated waste in the black and green containers labeled "non-recyclable.” Placing the wrong type of waste in recyclable containers contaminates the waste and requires the entire container to be disposed of as non-recyclable. Scheduled AMI Power Outages Power outages are needed to install new power meters in several buildings at Capodichino in order to remotely control power consumption. All outages will be four hours in duration. The schedule is as follows: Oct. 5 at 8 a.m. base-wide at Capo, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. for Admin I, II, and III buildings, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. for Supply Warehouse and West Parking Garage. Oct. 4: Naples Overseas Support Club Welcome Social The Naples Overseas Support Club will host an opportunity to learn about the organizations and vendors of the NSA community. The social will be held Friday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Support Site Community Center. All NOSC events are open to U.S. and NATO ID cardholders. October 10: "Support Site Sweepers" with NASCPOA The Naples Area Second Class Petty Officers Association (NASCPOA) will sponsor a monthly base cleanup on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Volunteers are welcome and asked to meet at the skate park to help with the cleaning. Oct 12: Breast Cancer Awareness Run MWR & USNH Health Promotions will sponsor “Run for a Girl,” at the Support Site Fitness Forum on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event has 3 options: a 1 Mile Fun Run (free), a 5K Course ($5) and a 10K Run/Walk Course ($10). Awards will be given for the top three finishers in the following 5K and 10K categories: Men, Women, and all participants under age 17. T-shirts will be available for $5. For more information, call DSN 629-6611, DSN 629-6489, or cell 331-152-5217. Oct 12: Pizza Festival 2013 Enjoy a true Neapolitan pizza served hot out of the oven, right on Support Site! The WRA (the local national employees’ association) brings pizza ovens, Neapolitan folkloric entertainment, and a bounce house to the Village Forum on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 4-9 p.m. This event is open to all personnel with base access. Admission is free and food will be available for purchase. Both euro and dollars will be accepted.

Oct. 17: Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills NSA Naples Capodichino and the Support Site will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On at 10:17 a.m. on Oct. 17 during the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills. October 17: Sailors’ Supper Night On Thursday, Oct. 17, USO Naples volunteers will be hosting a free dinner for single and unaccompanied service members from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Support Site Bachelors Quarter Kitchen in support of their service. Menu will feature a variety of homemade pasta dishes, salad bar and desserts.

Additional MWR Updates Football Sundays at O’Rhys Pub, now through the Playoffs. Every Sunday from 6-

10:30 p.m., catch the early game and enjoy free snacks and drink specials. The majority rules when it comes to selecting the game of the week, so come early and bring plenty of friends. Oct. 7: Intramural Volleyball rosters due. Due to the number of teams signed up, IM Volleyball has pushed their dates back.
