PAINT

Paint is any liquid, liquefiable composition which is the form of thin films of polymerization of polyunsaturated oil are converts to a solid film.

RAW MATERIALS OF PAINT PAINT=Pigment + Resin + Drying Oil + Binder -from paint additives -pigments both organic and inorganic color -acrylic emulsion -metallic driers for paint and ink -alkyd resins for formulating paintings and -specialized extenders

PROPERTIES OF A GOOD PAINT 1.The paint should be cheap. 2.It should be easy and harmless to the user. 3.It should retain its original colour for a long

time. 4.Extenders are used in paint. 5.Diluents are used in paint. 6.Generally applied on metal surface.

VARNISHVarnish is a clear, hard solution that is principally applied to wood to give it a glossy finish while forming a protective film around it.

RAW MATERIALS OF VARNISH VARNISH=Natural or Synthetic resin+Drying oil+Solvent -Natural resin such as Chanch,Lac etc -Synthetic resin such as Polyester,Polyamide etc -Semisynthetic resin such as Cellulose acetate,

Cellulose nitrate etc -Drying oil such as Soybean oil,Pum oil,Fish oil etc

PROPERTIES OF GOOD VARNISH 1.It dries on the surface by oxidation,evaporation and polymerization. 2.Its duration time is law. 3.It reflects less light. 4.Extenders are not used in varnish. 5.Applied on wooden surface. 6.Diluents are not use.

LACQUERLacquer is a clear or coloured wood finish that dries by solvent evaporation or a curing process that produces a hard, durable finish.

PROPERTIES OF GOOD LACQUER 1.It dries on the surface by evaporation only 2.Its duration time is law. 3.It reflects lowest light. 4.Extenders are not used in lacquer. 5.Diluents are used. 6.It applied on both metal and wooden surface.
