The luncheon offered education about heart disease in women. There were nine survivors at the event, which was attended by approximately 50 women. Amy Cavaliere and Denlein, both Spontaneous Coronary Dis- section (SCAD) survivors, shared their stories. Their SCAD’s led to heart attack and cardiac arrest at age 35. Heart Disease is the number one killer of women. SCAD is like- ly the number one killer in women under 42, Denlein said; it is known as the healthy women’s heart attack. CPR and AED saved Cavaliere’s life. David Sauls, the EMT who saved Cavaliere’s life, performed a CPR/AED demonstration at the luncheon. Former White House chefs Guy Mitchell and Woody Raber entertained attendees with funny stories while giving a heart- healthy cooking demonstration. Mar- guerite Quinn, commenting on the success of startups at the PA Biotechnology Center. The center has helped launch startups that have gained more than $2 billion in value, said Tim- othy Block, president of the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center. The center is currently home to 38 companies. Speakers at the conference included Sanjay K. heart health awareness fundraiser event called “Homecoming for

Heart Health” at the Woodlands at Warwick’s Toll Brothers model

home on Oct. 22.

The luncheon offered education about heart disease in women.

There were nine survivors at the event, which was attended by

approximately 50 women.
