The Tigers cut the lead to 3 in the third quarter after two turnovers by the Longhorns, but the Longhorns responded and put the game out of reach by scoring three consecutive times. The Longhorns advance to the Regional game to be played in Abilene on Friday at 1 pm against Windthorst. The game will be played at Shotwell stadium. Highlights 1st Quarter Creed Coalson scores on a 72 yard run. Adrian Padilla made the first of six PAT kicks and the Horns led 7-0. On the ensuing possession, Electra fumbled and Vaughn Stilley recovered the ball for the Horns. Ty Lee scam- pered eleven yards on a boot- leg pass play to get the TD. Horns lead 14-0. 2nd Quarter The Longhorn offense struggled with consistency in the second quarter, but the Longhorns defense got more points on the board. After a good punt by Coalson to close out the first quarter, the defense had the Electra offense pinned back inside their ten yard line. Cody Martin sacked the QB in the end zone for a 2 point safety and the Horns led 16-0. Electra scored late in the quarter to cut the lead to 16-6 and were driving again as the quarter ended. The final play of the half ended with a pass to the endzone that was knocked down by Coalson. 3rd Quarter The Longhorns scored quickly to begin the second half. Coalson broke loose for a twenty six yard run to move the ball into Tiger territory and two plays later busted another 26 yard run for the TD and the Horns led 23-6. The Longhorn defense caused another Electra turnover as Ethan Sedden recovered a fumble. On the ensuing play for the Horns, the Tigers intercepted a pass and on third down of their possession scored on a 39 yard pass play to cut the lead to 23-12 as the try for two points was no good. After a good return by the Horns Jordan Baumann, the Tigers recovered a Longhorn fumble and with the momentum, and just a minute after their last score, the QB connected on a 58 yard pass and following the two conversion the lead was now cut to 23-20. The Longhorns would take the momentum away on the first play after the kick as Baumann broke for a 72 yard run that got the lead back up to ten 30-20. 4th Quarter The Longhorns put the game away in the 4th quarter as Coalson broke loose for a 46 yard TD run after taking the option pitch from Ty Lee. The Horns led 37-20. On the Tigers next possession, Nathan McGinnis intercepted the ball and set up the Longhorns on the Tiger side of the field. Coalson capped off six play drive from the three and the Horns led 44- 20. The Tigers would con- tinue to fight and on the sec- ond play, the QB broke for a 76 yard run to the Longhorns 4 yard line. Up to that point he had been held to (-13) yards but Longhorns Beau Grigg and Ethan Sedden gave chase and Ethan corralled him before the score. The Tigers would cut the lead to 44-26 two plays later and fol- lowing the onside kick that went out of bounds before covering the ten yards, the Horns kneeled the ball for the victory. Remember, Friday at 1:00 in Abilene. See you there!! 4th grade to hold dinner December 4 The 4th grade at Bronte Elementary will have a HEB Camp Luncheon Sunday, December 4, from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Plates may be pur- chased in front of the Bronte School. Each plate will consist of pork loin, sausage, potato salad, beans, and a slice of bread. The 4th grade is raising money to attend HEB Camp in May. HEB Camp is an outdoor education program that is located in the Hill Country. There, the students will participate in archery, canoeing, bird watching, gun safety, archeology, water resources, fishing, etc. Come, eat, and support the 4th grade HEB Camp! Bronte UIL travel to Texas Tech meet The UIL Academic team traveled to Texas Tech on Saturday to participate in the Fall Fandango practice meet. Bronte was in the small schools division consisting of Andrews, Bronte, Brownfield, Forsan, Lubbock Estacado, Garden City, Idalou, Lockney, Lubbock Cooper, Morton, New Deal, Plains, Ralls, Roosevelt, Seminole, Tahoka, Sudan, and Sundown. The TMSCA (Texas Math and Science Coaches Association) materi- als used are much more rig- orous than the UIL materials. The following students competed: Suzette Diares placed 6th in Calculators for 11th graders; Conner Clark tied for 4th in Calculator for 12th graders and was tied for 9th overall in small schools Calculator; Austin Mertz placed 8th in Current Issues and Events; Mikayla Fraune placed 10th in Spelling and Vocabulary; Megan Yackley placed 5th in Ready Writing. Staff Sergeant Allen of the United States Air Force spoke with the senior students at Bronte High School about the opportunities the USAF offers. He discussed basic training, college tuition assistance, careers in the AF, benefits, advancement opportunities and the GI Bill, in addi- tion to other topics. Mr. Bobby Garza recently came to Bronte High School to talk to students in one of Mr. Sellers’ agriculture classes about the Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Garza talked to the students about the impor- tance of obtaining some sort of higher education beyond high school and about the welding industry in addition to the differ- ent programs the Tulsa Welding School offers and job outlooks for the field of welding. 4th grade to holddinner December 4The 4th grade at Bronte

Elementary will have a HEBCamp Luncheon Sunday,December 4, from 11 am to1:30 pm. Plates may be pur-chased in front of the BronteSchool.

Each plate will consist ofpork loin, sausage, potatosalad, beans, and a slice ofbread.
