  • Description: A web designed to showcase a personally created logo.

    Date: July 27, 2015Course/Instructor: Comm 130 section 02 Brother KerrProgram(s)/Tools: TextWrangler, Photoshop Objectives: Size and optimize an original logo as a .png for a web page Write content to describe the process of creating your logo and how it appeals to a target audience. Acquire a working knowledge of HTML. Acquire a working knowledge of CSS. Identify hex colors to match logo, using Photoshop color picker.

    Process: I created this webpage with textwranger. Once I had placed my image into the code and marked all the needed code. I then attached a pre-made Css document to my HTML code. Once I did this I opened my business card that I used my logo in Photoshop to use the eyedropper tool to get the perfect colors I wanted for the web page. I also changed my fonts and centered my logo to the page.

    Process: I first found a photo and scanned into the computer. Then Then using Photoshop I added text and used the eyedropper tool to make the text the same color as the womens scarf.

Date: June 6, 2015Course/Instructor: Comm 130 section 02 Brother KerrProgram(s)/Tools: IllustratorObjectives: Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the audience. Do not imitate existing logos or use previous designs. Market research: gather opinions from at least ten people about which logo appeals most to them. Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos. Refine one logo with variations for color

    Process: I sketched out a ton of different ideas that I could do for a camping company. Once I figured out my top 3 favorite designs I designed them on illustrator then asked 20 different people which one they liked the most. The clear chose the tee pee design so I simplified the design and only used the shape tool and came out with this logo.

  • Description: Matching letter head and business card design. Also creating a logo for the company to use in the design.

Use the new logo to design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead. Apply typography rules, keeping small copy. Keep designs simple with light watermarks and drop shadows and plenty of white space. Include contact information.

    Process: First I made the water mark on the page. Next I added the contact and name of the restaurant. I wanted to keep the design really simple so besides that I just added a line to it to make the eye flow from side to side.

    Process: I first made a ton of different sketches of different layouts I could use. Then I looked up a lot of graduation announcements and poster layouts. Once I had my idea I want onto Photoshop and started using some brushes I downloaded and made my own white space. Then added in the need picture and logo and text.

    Process: I sketched out my design first and chose a color scheme and then went out and took a picture. I used a technique called lens whacking to add a lot of blur to the image. Once I got the look I was going for I put it into Photoshop and edited the picture and then added the smoke picture and the polka dot image on top. Using a lot of blending tools, I created the image I wanted. Once that was good I added text to the image to make a complete look.

Keep designs simple with light watermarks and drop shadows and plenty of white space. Include contact information.Process: I first created the pineapple logo and then changing the color of it and making a random pattern on the back of the card. Then the front I kept with the logo as a water mark and placed the contact info and name of the restaurant on it. I also created my own underlining to go under the restaurants name.

    Date: May 23, 2015Course/Instructor: Comm 130 section 02 Brother KerrProgram(s)/Tools: PhotoshopObjectives: Choose a color scheme, take a photo to match those colors, then incorporate the colors into the layout. Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it. Adjust image levels, saturation, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layers for NDE (non-destructive editing.) Size and crop the image Use layers to design text, and repeating graphic elements in Photoshop.

    Process: I sketched out my design first and chose a color scheme and then went out and took a picture. I then took the picture into Photoshop and warped the image and changed the contrast, lighting and sharpness. I also changed the color of his shirt to fit better into the color scheme. Then I added my own white space and added in the text.

  • Description: A 2 sided folding brochure. Date: July 11, 2015Course/Instructor: Comm 130 section 02 Brother KerrProgram(s)/Tools: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator Objectives: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure. Incorporate quality images. Incorporate at least four quality images, not including the logo. One should be clipped in Photoshop and text-wrapped in InDesign so the text follows the cutout shape of the image. Write at least 250 words of original copy in at least three paragraphs, headers, and sub headers.

    Process: I first made a ton of different sketches of different ayouts I could use and folding ideas with a paper draft. Once I got the look I wanted on the mountain on the inside and the kimono look on the outside I created the logo. I wanted it to look like the rising sun over Mt. Fuji. Once the logo was done I created other images that I could put on the menu on Illustrator. Then I found an image on pintrest to use on the front page to give it the kimono look. Then I created the menu and layout of the menu on the inside. Then I printed and cut the extra stuff and folded the sides.
