1. demography: study of human population and how they change (due to birth, death or migration)
2. life expectancy: average age that a person is expected to live
3. total fertility rate: average number of children a woman is expected to have in her lifetime
4. replacement rate: the number of births needed to replace those that die (most developed countries have a rate of 2.1)
5. rate of natural increase: how fast your population is growing (birthrate minus deathrate equals rate of natural increase)
