• Currently engaged in the Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts (mSCOA) support project with the service provider, which is necessary to implement National Treasury Regulations. The Municipality is still waiting for the finalisation of the transversal tender from National Treasury for mSCOA-compliant financial systems, hence the request for extension to use the current financial system • Ongoing system support for revenue, expenditure, cash management and reporting which is necessary for execution of daily operations • The current financial system is hosting the total financial data of the Municipality • The system will still be required for data migration should a new system be procured.

The information statement is available for inspection at Room Number 157/158, First Floor, Rustenburg Municipal Offices, corner Nelson Mandela and Beyers Naudé Drives, Rustenburg 0300 from 3 June 2016 to 27 June 2016 on weekdays during working hours from 07:30-16:00.

The public are hereby invited to submit written representations to the Municipality.

Any person who cannot write may come during office hours to a place where the staff member of the Municipality named below will assist that person to transcribe that person’s comments or representations.

All bids will be evaluated in accordance with the Supply Chain Policy of the Rustenburg Local Municipality, PPPFA and other related legislation. Bids will remain valid for 90 days.

An updated record of payment of rates, taxes and services to the relevant municipality for director/s and the company must be attached. Failure to do so will invalidate the bid submitted.

The lowest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted and the Municipality reserves the right to accept the whole or part of any bid. The Municipality reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities as indicated in the technical specifications.

That RLM is not obliged to award this bid to a bidder scoring the highest points or the lowest price, in this regard, preference will be given to Rustenburg-based companies or companies that form JVs or subcontract at least 25% of their work to Rustenburg-based companies, as an objective criteria contemplated in section 2(1)(f) of the PPPFA.

Ledig – Large parts of the Itumeleng Secondary School in Ledig, near Sun City, has burnt to the ground on Friday morning, 27 May 2016. At 04h00 the Friday morning, the Deputy Principal of Itu-meleng Secondary, Mr. Itumeleng Sethwala received a call from the school governing body’s chairperson – informing him that the school was ablaze and that the fire could be seen from afar. The incident was immediately reported to the Police and Disaster Management units, who extin-guished the fire. Furniture to the Grade 10 and 12 classes, the Head of De-partment’s offices, and the staff room caught fire, but were mainly intact after the fire fighters doused the flames. The mobile Technology Class (containing books and other im-portant files) – were completely destroyed. At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown; however, the Speaker of the Moses Kotane Local Municipality, Cllr. Ralesole Diale, calls on the community of Ledig to protect their schools and community. Cllr. Diale visited the school to assess the damage, and expressed his disappointment over the burnt books and the disturbance it would cause to the learners’ curriculum.
