The new RNC boards in RAN13

OMUc:an OMUc board occupies only one slot and contains a single hard disk.

SCUb:

Provide four 10G Ethernet ports and eight GE port.

Inter-subrack connection: 10M/100M/1000M self-adaptation is usedfor GE ports.

Supporting a short period when the SCUa and SCUb boards areconfigured in the same subrack: Switchover of the SCUb boards doesnot affect services.

NIUa:the NIUa board performs identification functions based on the DPIprotocol.

Identifies instant messaging (IM) services.

Identifies web browsing services.

Identifies P2P downloading services.

Both hardware versions HW68R11 and HW69R11 are supported in BSC6900 withRAN13.0





The BSC6900 V900R013 has the following characteristics in comparison to the

BSC6900 V900R012: 1. The maximum configurable PS throughput on the user plane increases from

12 Gbit/s to 24 Gbit/s. The PS throughput is based on the traffic typeUL/DL64/384kbps, which indicates a service rate of 64 kbit/s in the uplink and384 kbit/s in the downlink.

2. The maximum number of configurable SPUs is increased from 23 to 30,providing higher BHCA processing capability on the control plane.

3. New hardware SCUb, which provides 240 Gbit/s switching processingcapability, is introduced in V900R013. Two SCUb boards are configured ineach subrack to provide 480 Gbit/s switching processing capability.

4. The hardware capacity license (300 Mbit/s) is introduced in V900R013,which improves the PS throughput on the user plane.

5. The board NIU is introduced in V900R013 to provide the deep packetinspection (DPI) function.

If operators adopt different traffic models, the weight are different.





The quantity of BHCA that SPU board support is different based on the different traffic

models. If traffic model is provided by operator, you has to convert the BHCA based on Huawei

traffic model to the BHCA based on operator traffic model.





SPU BHCA capacity has close relation with traffic model. The BHCA capacity of SPU

on a given traffic model needs to be calculated according to aforementioned way.

DPUe board Support the UL+DL data stream at 500 Mbit/s based on the conditions of

UL 64 kbit/s and DL 384 kbit/s if the capacity license(165Mbps) is configured. DPUe board Support the UL+DL data stream at 800 Mbit/s based on the conditions of

UL 64 kbit/s and DL 384 kbit/s if the capacity licenses(165Mbps and 300Mbps) areconfigured.





Resource CS data service consume is twice as much as that CS Voice service consume.

So DPUb Board support 1,800 Erlang for CS speech services, and Support 900 Erlangfor CS data services only.

The required number of Iub interface boards isthe maximum of the five values obtained from the preceding five aspects.
