General dimensioning rule changes in RU20

• No changes in dimensioning rules of UltraSite with WSPC

• No changes in dimensioning rules of Flexi Rel1 (FSMB)

• No changes dimensioning rules of DCH traffic

• Baseband efficiency improvement with Fractional DPCH feature (RAN1201):– If RAN1201 feature is activated then 1 CE is not anymore required for signaling with HSPA users– Signaling Radio Bearers (SRB) are always mapped to HSPA– Requires 3gpp release-7 UE

• Up to 160 HSPA users per LCG– 1 * FSMD: 80 HSPA users if SRB on HSPA (72 UE if SRB on DCH)– 1 * FSME: 80 HSPA users if SRB on HSPA (80 UE if SRB on DCH)– 2 * FSMD: 160 HSPA users if SRB on HSPA (144 UE if SRB on DCH)– 2 * FSME: 160 HSPA users if SRB on HSPA (160 UE if SRB on DCH)

Mixed rel1/rel2 or EUBB/non EUBB cases in RU20 main release

• HSPA+ traffic is handled by Flexi Rel2 or EUBB• DCH/HSPA traffic can be handled by both Flexi Rel1/Rel2 or UltraSite EUBB/Non EUBB

New commissioning parameter:• Defines if the CCH + traffic of the frequency layer is mapped to master System Module /

extension System Module (Flexi) or EUBB / non EUBB HW (UltraSite)– Common channels– HSDPA, HSUPA– DCH traffic (In case of DCH traffic, the selected HW is preferred)

• Example: 2+2+2 configuration with FSMB + FSMD: – f1: rel99 & HSPA (HSDPA 16QAM + HSUPA 2Mbps) allocated to FSMB by commissioning parameter

Common channels allocated to FSMB, 26 CE needed for CCH HSPA schedulers allocated to FSMB. DCH traffic (R99, HSDPA associated uplink, HSPA SRB):

• FSMB is preferred, but FSMD is also used if needed (no more capacity available in FSMB)– f2 rel99 & HSPA+ (HSDPA 64QAM/HSUPA 5.8 Mbps) allocated to FSMD by commissioning parameter

Common channels allocated to FSMD, 0 CE needed for CCH HSPA+ schedulers allocated to FSMD DCH traffic (R99, HSDPA associated uplink, HSPA SRB):

• FSMD is preferred, but FSMB is also used if needed (no more capacity available in FSMD)

HSUPA improvements in RU20 main release

• Support for HSUPA 5.8 Mbps (2 ms TTI)– Requires Flexi Rel2 System module or EUBB (UltraSite)

• More Resource steps supported by HSUPA 2 Mbps (10 ms TTI)– Increased to 10 steps (8 in RU10) with Flexi Rel2/EUBB

• Baseband efficiency improvement with Fractional DPCH feature (RAN1201):– If RAN1201 feature is activated then 1 CE is not anymore required for

signaling with HSPA users

2 Mbps (10 ms TTI) and 5.8 Mbps (2 ms TTI) HSUPA resource steps in RU20- Rel2 HW (FSMD/E*) and Enhanced UltraSite baseband (EUBB)

• HSUPA resources are allocated in steps of Channel Elements (CEs)

• Size of each HSUPA resource step in Channel Elements is described below:

Shared Scheduler for Baseband Efficiency –scheduler1. MIMO 16QAM supported

Max 2 MIMO cells per scheduler

2. DC-HSDPA (64QAM) supported 42 Mbps peak rate Max 2 cells with MIMO or without MIMO

Note: DC-HSDPA (64QAM): Full baseband–scheduler:• not valid since Dual Cell HSDPA requires always joint scheduling for two cells (3gpp

requirement)

HSDPA changes in RU20 On Top -release

16 users per cell –scheduler– Not supported anymore by Flexi Rel2 System Modules/EUBB

– Requires always Flexi Rel1 System Module in configuration (FSMB or FSMB+FSMB or FSMB+FSMD/E) or WSPC unit in UltraSite

DC-HSDPA and Tcell grouping

- DC-HSDPA requirement: both cells must have same Tcell value defined in RNC

- Same Tcell grouping principles for HSDPA shared scheduler as today:- One scheduler can have values only from one Tcell group

- Rules for grouping (max 4 groups):Group 1: Tcell values 0, 1 and 2

Group 2: Tcell values 3, 4 and 5

Group 3: Tcell values 6, 7 and 8

Group 4: Tcell value 9
