Gastrobranchus dombeyi Shaw [G.] (ex Lacepède) 1804:267, Pl. 134 [General zoology or systematic natural history; ref. 4015] South American seas (Chile). Holotype (unique): MNHN (dry skin, apparently lost). Based on Lacepède 1798:534 [ref. 2708], Gastrobranche dombey; if Lacepède's name is considered a vernacular name, then the above appears to be the first Latinization of the name; but also Latinized by Latreille 1804:75 [ref. 17490] as dombey [earliest not researched].
