Target Tracker Quick Start Guide – End of Key Stage Assessment data

Overview

Target Tracker contains the tools needed to record the end of Key Stage 1 and 2 Teacher Assessments and the SAT test results for Y2 and Y6. It also allows you to make the End of Key Stage data returns for the Local Authority, the STA and also to update your Management Information System with this data. There are reports to return the results to parents of children in Y2 and Y6 and to share the results with school governors and other agencies as required.

Entering the End of Key Stage Teacher Assessments Steps > KS End of Key Stage > KS1 or KS2. Choose a subject, the first pupil will be shown and there is a Next Pupil / Previous Pupil button to move through the cohort.

The applicable standards for the chosen subject and Key Stage are shown. P scales can also be entered if applicable.

Simply double click on the cell to enter the standard that the child has achieved for the subject. The ITAF statements for each standard are shown beneath the standard.

Teachers should refer to the Interim Teacher Assessment Frameworks when assessing children at the end of Years 2 and 6. Some useful links

are included below. The DfE has also released moderation documents to help support judgements.

We recommend that the end of Key Stage data is checked carefully before making the data return exports for the LA or the STA or to update your school MIS. We have provided 2 reports to make this

task very easy to do.

Entering SATs Scores

End of KS1 and KS2 SAT scores can be entered into Target Tracker using the Steps > Tracking grid. Click on the Tests button on the ribbon choosing KS1 or KS2 SATs. The SAT score is entered, the Scaled score and the Outcome will be calculated and updated automatically as soon as this information is made available by the DfE, and without a software update being needed. The KS1 raw scores can already be added into the software. The KS2 option will be made available in Summer 2. To unlock the cells for data entry right mouse click twice on the cell and choose to edit the individual child or the column for all children. Phonics data is also entered into this area of the software.

Target Tracker allows a file to be made to return Phonics data, EYFSP data, end of

KS1 and KS2 data to the LA and end of KS2 data to the STA directly from Target

Tracker. – File > Export > Data Returns.

We also allow schools to make a file to transfer the end of Key Stage data into the

school’s MIS – File > Export > Data for MIS.

Steps reports > Key Stage > Key Stage 1 or 2 > Key Stage 1 or 2 Outcomes

These reports can be run showing pupil names instead of numbers and

percentages. There is also a Summary view showing the results for key groups. As

always the groups can be edited to show data for your own choice of groups.
