The 4 th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays, because it reminds us of just how much we have to be thankful for and the many freedoms we have. We are truly blessed to live in one of the most prosperous and wealthy countries in this world. Many of us might not think we have much or that we have struggles in this life, but imagine wondering where your next meal was coming from, or having to live off the land, imagine not having money to buy clothes or things your family needs. Imagine not being having any access to good health care, let alone trying to pay for it. Oh yes, we live in a great and wondrous country and we should celebrate our independence and freedom with all these things in mind. Most of us will spend more on the 4 th of July on food fireworks and fun than many people in this world make in an entire year. We will eat more and have more food to eat at one setting than many in this world have available for weeks or months. I mention all of these things not to make us feel bad or to depress us in any way, but to remind us just how blessed we truly are. Why not show more thankfulness to God for all we have and having had the privilege and opportunity to be born in such a free and prosperous country. Another thing we can do to show our thankfulness to God is to be better givers to our God and His good work! We are privileged at Kansas Expressway to have a lot of good works going on, locally and throughout the world. We have a lot of good givers in our congregation, but the reality is we can all afford to do more. And in light of how richly we have been blessed we might consider that our God is certainly worth a greater commitment. So enjoy this 4 th with all of your family and friends. But remember to show our thankfulness to God and to be appreciative of all that has been done to make our country what it is today. May God continue to bless us all as we put Him first and do His Will always! Let’s keep all of our brothers and sisters in prayers who have special needs. Also let’s remember those who have family members with health problems, especially brother Wesley and his mother. Hope to see you all this evening as well as this coming Lord’s day to Worship God. RAY’S REMARKS:

Well, we are only a few days away from the 4th of July and I’m looking forward to being with family, having a cookout and seeing some fireworks. The 4

th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays, because it

reminds us of just how much we have to be thankful for and the many freedoms we have.

Most of us will spend more on the 4th of July on food fireworks and fun

than many people in this world make in an entire year.

So enjoy this 4th

with all of your family and friends.

Have a great week and God bless! *Ray Sullins*
