Arranging for Different Essay Types
• Narratives – mostly follows chronological order with changeups using flashbacks or flash forwards
• Description• Spatial – arranged according to location• Chronological – time orientation• Emphatic – details arranged in order of
importance• Photos and images can suggest organization

Division – Arranging for Different Essay Types
• Exemplification – connect the thesis to each paragraph (chronological or emphatic)
• Classification and Division – emphatic arrangement / start with the least important and end with most important or largest element
• Comparison and contrast – one point at a time or one subject at a time
