THÉÂTRE DES VARIÉTÉS Managed by the Cultural Affairs Department, the Théâtre des Variétés is a venue offering an extremely varied programme, welcoming among others amateur theatre companies and regular conferences. It can also be used to organise end of year school parties or can be converted into a cinema room for the screening of films organised by the Principality of Monaco's Audiovisual Archives. ESPACE FONTVIEILLE (THE "BIG TOP") The main venue for the International Circus Festival, its round structure covered by a hefty canvas sheet supported by four masts means that it can also host a very diverse range of events such as Monaco's International Fair, the “Déc’oh !” Show, professional events and auctions, etc. THÉÂTRE PRINCESSE GRACE Formerly the Fine Arts Theatre, during its golden years it established its reputation with great names such as Sacha Guitry, Edith Piaf and numerous others. After many years of disuse, it was Princess Grace who had the building restored to its original glory, completely handling the decor design for this room. The extremely varied performance programme (including plays, one-man shows, magic shows or comedy events, etc) offers something for every taste. SALLE DU CANTON ESPACE POLYVALENT Opened in 1995, this multipurpose venue is home to public events such as trade shows, exhibitions, variety performances and disco evenings, etc. GRIMALDI FORUM MONACO A bold architectural creation built on the seafront, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco can satisfy even the most demanding technical requirements. Its great versatility enables it to host ballets, concerts, operas and festivals simultaneously, or indeed even ambitious exhibitions under the Grande Verrière and the Esplanade Princess Grace, including “New York New York” in 2006 or the “Grace Kelly Years” in 2007. THE SPORTING MONTE-CARLO For more than 30 years now, the Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo has sparkled during the summer season thanks to the dazzling presence of some of the greatest names in international music. A leading Monaco evening spot, the Salle des Etoiles is also the scene for the organisation of major global events such as the Bal de la Rose (Rose Ball) or the Monaco Red Cross Gala. AUDITORIUM RAINIER III Located on the seafront, the Auditorium Rainier III stands out for its striking hexagonal design and is home to the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra which regularly presents its concerts in the auditorium's comfortable 1000-seater room.Televised shows and festivals featuring some of the greatest artists have been produced in this Auditorium. SALLE GARNIER Since November 2005, the Monte-Carlo Opera's Salle Garnier (which owes its name to the famous architect who built the Paris Opera) has recovered all of its original sparkle from back in the days when Sarah Bernhardt officially inaugurated the stage in 1879. The Salle Garnier has clearly demonstrated its cultural prestige by hosting famous operas such as Verdi’s Othello or Der Rosenkavalier by Strauss.
