DIARY: JANUARY 10 Amaia Zubizarreta

At Monday 10 of January we met our teachers and friends in the airport of Loiu to go to England. First, we check in the cases and we said good bye to our family, then we waited half an hour to the plane. At twenty past three, we get on the plane. In the plane, the people listen to music, read a book, sleep, speak with other people… After half an hour, at five o´clock, more or less we arrive to London airport (Heathrow), we took our cases and we bought a coca-cola in a machine. Them we caught the bus, in the bus we had two hours of travel and after that we stopped in a restaurant to have a dinner. Some people ate a sandwich, but other people bought the food there, in a restaurant. At eight o´clock we got on a bus again and we had two hours more of travel in bus. In the bus the people ates something, listens to music, other people was doing crosswords, other people were singing… At ten o´clock we arrived to Stonyhurst, but when the bus stopped nobody wanted to leave the bus because we had shame. But finally we went out, and we took our cases. When all the people took the cases we went into Stonyhurst, and one man led us to the room were all the English were. The room was very big and it was red. In the wall there were some pictures and in the middle of the room was a table. We were in the right of the room and the English people were in the left of the room. Then a woman introduced

us to our English partner. After that the mother of my English partner took us by car to the house, we had thirty minutes of travel to arrive home. In the house they showed me my bedroom and other parts of the house. After that I opened the case and I got a shower. Then I go to the living-room to watch the TV in English, so I didn´t understand very well. At half past eleven I went to my bedroom, and I went to sleep because I was very tired.

DIARY tuesday 11th

Julen Lejarazu Goti Today we have been nervous because it has been the first day we went going to school. When we got to school we see that this school is very very big is huge when we went to a meeting, we go to spanish class and we elect a person to teach us the whole school.

The person who show the school was very friendly and he show us all the school. The school have library other very old library play room with pin pon table then we were to stay with our partners in their classes. Some classes were fun butother not,The bestthing in all class was having a class with my friends.When we go to eat the food was not very good because We had never tried, and we didn't eat enithing then every people went with his partner and other people went to see rugby. When we meet again with our companions went each to his science class and the Eneko´s partner was sleep and my partner was very bored and I so.Other people went to geography ans geography class was relly bored class but some went to the library first and then to the play room. When school ended we all met together and we were

talking long time.

Later I went with my partner home but some stayed longer time in the school. People who are sleeping in the school went to dinner and then went to the computer room to enter the tuenti The people of who eat in the school dinner very very bad I had a very good dinner in the house of my partner. After dinner I went with my partner to play on the XBOX a football game We played three mathes and he win two and I one when I play a bit another I stay in the computer two houers and finally I went to bed. This has been a very good day.This was the first day in the school.

January 12

In the third day I woke up at forty five to seven and I had breakfast at fifteen past seven. At forty five

to eight I caught the bus. I arrived at Stonyhurst at fifteen past eight. At twenty past eight all the

Spanish met in a class and the teachers told us what we had to do in that day. Then we caught the bus.

The way to York took two hours. When we arrived we saw a church. It was very beautifull. Then we

walked across the wall. From the wall we saw very beautifull places, houses and the minster. Then we

went shopping from forty five to one to forty five to two. First

we went to a shop who has souvenirs of England and I bought a

lot of things. The shop was very good. Then we walked a lot and

we went to Gap and we bought a jacket. At more or less one

o´clock we ate a sandwich. We were hungry so we bought a hot

dog. It was very good. Then we walk and we went to a lot of

shops. At fifteen past one we went to Starbucks to drink

chocolate with cream. It was very delicious. After that we meet

the other people and we went to the Barley Hall. Barley Hall is a

old house and explains how was the life in that moments and what clothes they wore... Then we saw

the minster is very beautifull. At four o´colck we caught the bus to Stonyhurst. It tooks two hours.

When we arrived at the school we went to the playroom and we saw the TV. In the TV we sow famous

people singing songs. It was very funny. At six o´colck we went to have the dinner. At half past six we

went to the playroom again and we watched the TV. Then we

played pin-pon. It was very funny. At seven o´clok we caught

the bus to home. It took thirty minutes. When I arrived at the

house we have the dinner and we went to play pin-pon. Then

we went to wacht TV. Finally we went to bed at ten o´clock. It

was a very good day.

January, 13 Claudia Martinez

Today is thursday. We get up a quarter past seven, I’ am very tired. We take a shower, then we get dressed and we prepare to go to the breakfast. At quarter to eight we have started to eat. I eat only cold milk. The food is very bad because it doesn’t taste. After

the breakfast we go to clean the teeth. At half past eight, my partner and me go to the sexology lesson. In this class I’m not bored because we work in groups and I understand the explanations of the teacher. After the sexology lesson we go to religion class, this class is very boring because I don’t understand anything and

the teacher speaks all the time similar. At once we go to the playroom. After twenty five minutes we have started the study class, in this class I speak with Andoni. After this class I have math class, in this class we go to the library I speak with other persons. Our last lesson is physics and I write the history of the creation of the earth. At one o’clock we go to the dining room and I eat chicken and a yogurt. I don’t like English food! After the lunch we go to clean the teeth and we change the clothes because we have CCF class. We put sports clothes, mountain boots and a very big jacket. In the beginning of the class I’m nervous because I never have this class. This class is two hours long. First the teacher explain the how the pistols work and in the second part we go to the forest for do a shack for survive in the war. When we finish the lesson I change the clothes and we go to the playroom and we stay two hours there while my partners go to the class. When the lesson finish we go to see a swimming competition. All the people are very excited and a little bit crazy. After that we have the dinner. I eat only a banana. Al nine o’clock we arrive to the girls house and I have a shower. We go to bed at ten to ten but I sleep at half past eleven. It is a great day!

FRIDAY 14

KATTALIN

Today is Friday, we have got up at quarter past seven, we have taken the shower, and we have had to

wait a long time because there were many girls in the bathroom. After the shower, we have a breakfast;

we have eaten milk with cereals, orange juice a fruit. Then we go up for brush our tooth and we have

taken the books to go to class. First we have history and was very boring, then we have English class,

in this class I don`t understand many things and English teacher was very strict. And the last class

before the break was science. In this class we do our homework’s because the English students they

have to do a text. When the break have finished we have maths, but we go to other class because there

wasn`t room for us. Afterwards we have art, in this class they have to draw a landscape and they draw

very well. When we have finished this class we have lunch. For lunch we eat pasta, but I did not like

because it has a hot sauce and for dessert we have fruit. In the afternoon we have Biology. This class

was very boring for me and for all of us. To finish the afternoon we have a cookery class with Peter,

we have cook a cheesecake. First we have cut up the butter and we have put it in the fire to melt,

afterwards we have put ten biscuits in a bag and we have broken with a casserole. When the butter was

prepared we have mixed it with biscuits. Then we have mixed with cheese and cream and to finish the

cake we have put the cake in the fridge for two hours.

While we have gone to dinner, for dinner we have got a sandwich and an apple. When we have

finished the study we have gone to the bedroom to leave our books and then we have go to the

computers, there were many people, but we have taken a computer and we have spoken with our

friends. And we had a great time. At nine o`clock we have to go to our room we have put the pyjamas

on and we have gone to the bed and at ten o’clock lights have to be off. This was our day.

January 15 Ander Martínez

Today, Saturday, I have slept in her dad's house and we woke up at 7:00 and we have for breakfast some cereals and a little bit of cold milk. Then we went to the school and we have done our assemble. Then we go to the classes and in the first class, we have had physic and it was so boring but I have been doing and studing Phiscs and chemics. After the afternoon classes we played ping-pong all the time from 11:00 to 11:30 because we

have eaten too early today. I am so bad on ping-pong but I'm better now. Today we have eaten bread with some ketchup and a gofre with out chocolate, but it was so good. Then we went again to the playroom to play ping-pong and in the middle of the matches Iraia and I were angry between us. My partner and her sister has got hockey and Emily (my partner) has won but her sister Beatty has lost her match; but she says that they play very good

well. At night we went to the cinema and have seen a comedy film named “little fockers”. I went with Beatty and Emily went to other with her boyfriend Henry. I am going to a tell you more or less what I understand about the film: It was a comedy about a family. The father and grandfather fight and the grandfather watches him all the time because he does not trust him. At the end they are friends. I liked it very much, it was very funny. Later we went to a restaurant near the cinema and we have had dinner there. Finally we went home and there we saw a little bite the TV and then we went to bed and we were slept when I woke up to the bathroom because I haven't washed my teeth and I went to the bed again. This day has been a little bite boring in the morning but really interesting in the afternoon.

January the 16th of 2011

Today we have been shopping in Preston. It was

wonderful. We went to a small shopping center but we

saw a “burton” shop and we bought some clothes. After

that we had lunch in a M.C. Donald’s. We didn´t eat

much but it was enough. After that we went to a shop

where everything was from one pound. Then we went to

find another shop but we didn´t see nothing, the center was too small. At four o´clock we returned to

StonyHurst by bus. Two of the students In the school bought a blackberry each. One of then said

because it was broken and the other boy because his was very old, and it only was five months old! At

five o´clock more or less we tried to play with the PlayStation which is in the school but we went to

play with computers. In the computers we played a game called counter strike with the people in the

room. The game consists in killing to other players and they try to kill you too. We were twenty boys

playing that game together. My team lost but It didn´t matter. Later we had dinner. The dinner was at

five thirty so I wasn’t very hungry. The ate a hot dog. It was very good. After the dinner we went to

the playroom. In the playroom it is a table tennis table

and we played with it. All of them were very good players, I

think It is because they don’t have anything else to do in

break times or at night. I lost all matches, I think. Some

time later I returned to the computer room and started to play

that game again. This time I was connected in the tuenti so

when someone killed me I started to speak with my friends.

At night we saw Barcelona´s match. We only watched the first half. When I went barça was winning

three- nil. Finally I went to the dorms. I was talking with some Spanish and Mexican friends. I love

some Mexican expression for example “pendejo” which means stupid. And at ten o´clock I went to

sleep.

It was a great day.

MONDAY, JANUARY 17th

Xabier Azkarate

Today, is a great day. I wake at 07:15 and I take a sower. After I go to have breakfast and then

I go to wash my teeths to the badroom and I go to wear my clothes. When I did all things, I go

to the car with my english partner and his mother to drive us at school in her car. We arrived at

school at 08:20 and my partner have chemistry class, but I don´t go with my partner because I

go to meet with my teachers and my other spanish friends. I

arrived five minutes late. They tell us wath we go to do during the

day. After our partners come to find we and we go with they to

class. I go to the geography class and there were Eneko, Nadia,

Markel and Iraia. During the class, we were doing our homeworks

and studying. After I have maths class with other friends, but how

we are many people in class we go to other class with Peter and we practice english. In this

class I was with Julen, Adrian, Claudia, Nadia, Markel and Kattalin and other old people. We

were in this class 35 minutes and then we go to playroom because we have a break time. In the

playroom we were playing ping-pong and eating anything. When finish the break time we back

to last class and we have spanish class with Helen. After, when we finish spanish class our

partners come to find us and I go to religion class. I was bored in religion class because I dont´t

undestand anything. Then at 1pm we go to have lunch and 1.30pm we meet with our teachers

for go to Old Traford(Manchester United football field). We

were looking Old Traford on the inside (museum and tour)

and when we finish, we go to Manchester United shop and

everybody buy anything.

After, we back at school and my partner was waiting me

there. We go at home with his mother, I have dinner, I wear

my pijame, I wash my teeths and I go to my room to do this

diary.

Today we had a very Amazing day. We wake up at 7:00 and after breakfast, we had a shower. When

we were ready, we go to school. When we arrived at school we had go to the church. We had to sing.

Markel and I were together, but we can´t sing, because we get lost. After these hour, we met in Pieta´s

hall to go to Lancaster. In Pieta´s hall we were with English people. Then we catch the bus to go

there.In bus, we had to sit with our Partners. So I sit with Jack. In our left, there were Ainhoa and her

partner, but I dont remenber whats she´s name. In front of us, Emeka and Andoni were playing with

Emeka´s Ipad. And behind us, Julen and William were talking with me.

We arrived to Lancaster´s university at eleven o´clock, and there, we met with some students. Andoni,

Adrian, Xabier,Iñigo and me met with four students. Two of them are from Manchester, Other one is

from London, but I don´t remember where is the last girl from. We talked with they about our and their

future, about Jobs, about the Studies… After an our talking with the students, they had to go to lessons.

So a man showed us about Studies, projects, and things like those. I was so boring, and I know other

people were feeling like me.

When we finished the

presentation, we got a bus

again and we went to

Lancaster. There we have

two hours and half of free

time. So we try to spent all

the Money we had. But, the

first thing we did when we

arrived to Lancaster was go to McDonalds. Xabier and I ate a very

big burger with bacon, tomatoes… We ate the burger in 2 minutes. We were very hungry. Then we

went Shopping. Shopping or something like that, because only a person bought something. That

person was Andoni.

He bought a T´shirt, a green one. I don´t like it very much, but when he wear it , I like it. He spent 40

pounds, I think. When it was the time to return at school, Julen, Xabier, Andoni, Adrian and I

invented a dance, and we were dancing on the street. And when Julen saw us, he began recording. We

were too embarrased, but we continue dancing.

We got a bus,and we returned at school. Adrian and I were playing a computer game when we had to

go to ate a dinner.

Then, I met my partner and we went home. But before these, I met with his granparents and his aunts

and uncles. They gave me a present.

It was a very especial day for me.

WEDNESDAY, 19 OF JANUARY

Iraia Salterain

Today is Wednesday. We have got up at seven o’clock and I am very tired. We have taken a shower. Then, we

have gone to breakfast, but, we have had to wait a long time, because, in the breakfast there was a lot of

people. At twenty past eight, we have gone to the mass. It was very boring, because, they sing and we don’t

understand anything. Them the class has begun. The first class

has been the Spanish class and the teacher showed out partner to

speak Spanish. It is very funny. The second class we have gone to

English class and there was a dog and the dog was very ugly. The

teacher was very nice and he has put music. The third class I have

gone with Rihanna to the math class, but I have had to go to the

playroom. There was no one there. So, I have gone to the library and there were my friends. Afternoon we

have gone to buy the jumper of the school. It was grey color and very beautiful. All my friends have bought it

and, also, the boys. We were very hungry but in the of hour the lunch there was very badly food. We have only

eaten fruit. At two o clock we have taken the bus and to go to Clitheroe. It will be a small country, but, it was

very interesting. When we have arrived to Stonyhurst we were hungry and in the playroom we have bought

chocolate. It was very nice. Then, we have done with our partners. It has been very funny, because, all the girls

have taken photos and we have spoken with a lot of boys and girls. We have made many friends. At half past

five we have gone to dinner .I haven´t liked nothing because, it was all very salty. Later, together we have gone

to the room for the books. We have to go to our class with Pablo and

Julen, but, then we have taken of Pablo computer for to do the

homework’s. In the room, the girls have been dancing with

music. We have put on the pajama and we have to brush the teeth.

This has been my day.

Adrian Barturen 20/01/2011

Today Thursday,20th of December on 2011.I wake up at seven o`clock,it was too hard for me to wake

up than early.Then we went to a shower and we had to wait ten minutes.After shower we went to the

bedroom and we wore the

clothes.Then we went to the

breakfast with the partners.We were

going to breakfast we spoke about very

beatufull girls.We ate milk,orange

juice,chocolate

cake,sausages,beens,apple banana and

other things.Afterwards breakfast we

went to the playroom and spoke with

beautifull girls. Us after ten

minutes playing pin-pon we went to

class.The first class is French,in French class I don`t understood anything.It was a class very boring

and I`ve been all the time talking with my friends from Durango.The

next class had been tecnology,it is very interesting and the machines

had a very new technology and different from here.The last class

before break time has been fisica.At breaktime we bougth some

chocolates and we play a while to pin-pon.Afterwars breaktime we

went to the class.I went to Spanish class wit my partner.Spanish

class is very interesting for me because all peope I speak the

best.The English partners speak very bad Spanish,they just knew insults .And then I have religion

class we saw one film about different relegions.In gym class we played rugby and one boy to hurt his

arm then he went to the hospital.The las class was geography and it is very ver y boring class because I

don`t understood anything.At one o`clock we went to ate.The food is very bad comparing with Spanish

food.In the afternoon we have went to military exercises but toda cook food and then eat this food. Tt

is very funny .After we have gone to make ours bags.Because tomorrow we went to Durango.This has

been our last day !!

DIARY: JANUARY 21 Ainhoa Vega Today is the last day we stay in the Stonyhurst College. I get up at seven o´clock and I go to have the breakfast. In the breakfast we are all very sad because we go to the Basque Country. Then we go to the playroom to stay one hour because the partners stay in classes. At ten o´clock we go to the bus whit the partners because it is the time to say goodbye. I don´t like say goodbye because is very sad. We stay in the bus two hours but after that we stay in one shop buying crisps. We stay two hours more in the bus listening music and speaking with the friends. We stay in the airport at half past three. We stay one hour in the shops of the airport buying more things to eat, to play... We eat a sandwich in one restaurant and I like it very much. When we finish the sandwich we go to Starbucks to drink a chocolate cream. I like it very much! At five o´clock we go to enter in the part of the plane is. In the door there is one man looking the passports. He is very strict because he looks all of you and he asks more questions. I go to enter in the plane whit my friends and I sit near Iraia and Claudia. In the plane we stay speaking and listening to music. We stay in the plane one hour and half. I go to the Basque Country and I see my father and my sister looking at me. And I am very embarrassed. I take my suitcase and I go to my car to go to my home. I speak a lot of time whit my sister and my father about England and Stonyhurst. We stay thirty minutes in the car. When I arrive at home I go running to the kitchen to have a dinner because in Stonyhurst I don´t like the food at all. We have the dinner together and I like the food very much. A part of this day is very sad day but the other part is very good because I see my family.

Customs of England:

Markel Lizarralde

The life in England is very different from life in Spain. For example,the food in England is very

different at the one here. In Spain we eat fruit, vegetables, fish ... everything. There don`t eat fruit, I

don´t eat a lot of fish. The most typical food in England, are the potatoes. There almost every day I ate

potatoes. Also I eaten severaltimes spaghetti or macaroni and pizza someday. For breakfast, breakfast

is different. Some people ate to breakfast beans, beacon, boiled eggs, coffee milk ... other people ate

breakfast with toast or cereal ... the toast they have butter or Nutella. Something than the food of Spain

are the hours for lunch. The time for take the

breakfast is similar.The changes is at the

dinner, because in England took the dinner

between in half past five at seven o´clock.

Another thing different are the customs of the

school. In Spain, each class has its own room

and no changes are made. Teachers who go to

teach us come to our class. Only we go to

another class when it is a special class as

technology or art. In England, just the opposite. Each teacher has his room, and students have to go to

the teacher room. The English students they have to be changing classrooms. Moreover, in Spain the

teacher finish the class.

Lifestyle mode: All the buildings here are different from those of England. The lifestyle is different

there. There many people live in a huge house all to themselves near a city and have a great garden.

Within the city, many houses are single family and others have old form. In Spain, people have less

space. Also there are big houses and all kinds but usually they are flats. While there are many houses

one for each family, we live in flats. It's totally different.

They are also different security measures that are in the airports in Spain and in England. At the airport

in Spain you have to pass the control anti metals and they look your passport. At the airport in

England had to be more careful because there are more controls. They stopped and frisked me. They

scanned me with a radar and then they searched my backpack and they opened all the gifts.

Two weeks in England Our whole stay in the UK

Andoni Enríquez In the first day when we arrived to Manchester we met the partners and then we went to the bed .

The first and all the days we got up at seven o'clock.In the second day we visited the school and we

known the English people better.

In the third day we visited York it was a very

special and beautiful town , we caught the bus

at 9 o'clock .We visited the Minster of York it was

very incredible because has a lot of special windows

with a lot of colours,then we went shopping but we

didn't buy anything.

The fourth day we had a military lesson it was

very special but very boring because we went to the

forest and we built a shelter near the river to survive

the night but we didn't sleep in the forest.

The next day we had to view a swimming competition it was very interesting because the different

club's were shouting a lot of .The club who won was the green of Stonychurst college. It was very

special victory for the green team .

On Saturday we had all the day to practise different sports and we only practice ping-pong and

rugby,at the night we watched a film eating a pizza.It was a very special day because we were alone in

the school.

The next day we went to Preston. It was a very important day because was the only day that we had

time to go shopping. But when we arrived to Preston we watched that there aren't many shops.

On Monday we didn't do many importants things but we went

to Manchester at 2 o'clock. I liked it very much because we

viewed all the thing's of Old-Trafford. Then,we went

shopping to the old-trafford shop but when we saw the price

of the clothes we didn´t buy anything.

On Tuesday we went to Lancaster University. It was very

interesting day because we spoke with English people but in

Spanish Language.Then we went to Lancaster town shopping

center but there weren't any shopping center .

On Wednesday we had a lot of classes.Then we went to

Clitheroe, we had to do a questionnaire with English people and the team of boys won the

questionnaire.Then we went to the pastry and we

bought the best muffins of the world.

On the last day in Stonychurst we didn't do special

things but we cocked a military food it was very rare

and then we say goodbye to the new friends and we

packed .

On the next day we return to Durango. We were very

unhappy day because we had to say goodbye to all

the friends , but very special day because we returned

to Durango and saw the family and all the friends.

A week with our English friends in Durango. (From March 26

th to April 2

nd, 2011)

NADIA BARREIRO

The 26

th of March our English friends arrived to Bilbao at 16:30. After the airport we went home.

There they take a shower and they changed their clothes. We had dinner in a restaurant together and

after that we were showing them Durango, our town. We were home very late but they had fun in the

first day of their visit to Durango.

Next day they ate with our family. I ate with some of them too in Abadiño , not only with mine. We

had fun during the lunch. Everybody was laughing and having fun. After that we went to Durango by

car and then we went to Tabira to show them the park. Then we went to Andoni´s house and we stay

watching TV. After that we met with other friends and we went home at 9 o´clock because, next day

we had class.

In Monday we had class like every day but with English people. All of them met in a class and we

went to normal classes but in the second lesson some of us went to show them our school. In this work

I was with Claudia and we showed the school to four girls. We showed them all the school starting

with the library to our classes and corridors. After that they went to Matiena and after lunch they had

Spanish class.

The next they we spent in Bilbao we saw Deusto

university and they made us a test about psychologist.

They showed us the library too, it was very good and

very big. In the afternoon we went shopping we had a

great time buying clothes. When we arrived to

Durango we bought some sweets and we were

speaking for long time.

Wednesday we had normal classes and they learned

how to do potato omele they said to us that they had

a great time and the omelet was very good. In

Wednesdays we haven´t classes in the afternoon so in

the afternoon we met in Durango and we went buying

something and we went to the boys’ ‘local’ and we spent there all the afternoon.

They spent Thursday in Loyola and Donosti. While we were at classes they went to the beach and

visited the city. They said that they went shopping too and after that we were as every day in Durango

buying sweets and talking about how were they.

Next day we had again classes but they came with us to our classes. They got bored but after classes

we had lunch everybody at school because was an important day and we ate sandwiches in the

playground. We were hungry but we had fun. In the afternoon we went to buy some sweets and then in

the night we went to had dinner to another

restaurant and we spent all the night laughing,

dancing… we had a wonderful time, but it

was the last day so we were sad.

The last they we spent in the airport they had

to go but we wanted that they stay here more

time. All of the girls were crying and we said

that in summer we will meet together again.
