Our town - Tychy

Tychy is the town situated in the South of Upper Silesian District.

Among all new Polish towns Tychy is very likely to be the most beautiful one. Fortunately it misses the greyness and duskiness of the majority of Silesian town. There is much space, light and verdure in this place. Noteworthy is also the

variety o architecture forms.

Our town – Tychy - history

• The first mention of Tychy dates from 1467;

• Tychy had been part of the Province of Silesia in the German Empire, until 1922;

• After the World War II, Tychy was given a role of „bedroom city” by its architects;

• The first Tychy’s district was called “A” and the next , were given names of next alphabet letters.
