• A STUDENT/MYSELF/ASSISTANT WILL DELIVER A CRATE TO YOU THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED DAY.

• THE CRATE WILL THEN ROTATE TO THE NEXT TEACHER.

CREATE YOUR OWN BOOK TRAILER

• AS ANY AUTHOR CAN TELL YOU, PROMOTING YOUR BOOK IS A CHALLENGE. IN ADDITION TO STANDARD MARKETING TECHNIQUES, YOU MUST FIND NEW AND INNOVATIVE WAYS TO ENGAGE WITH YOUR READERS. ONE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO CREATE AN ANIMATED BOOK TRAILER.

• BUT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO MAKE A BOOK TRAILER. WHILE IT’S DIFFICULT TO CREATE ANIMATION FROM SCRATCH, IT CAN ACTUALLY BE QUITE SIMPLE TO CREATE A SIMPLE BOOK TRAILER BY YOURSELF. AND

The Lite version of Animoto is free and enables you to create 30-second animated trailers.

Step 1. Select the animation style and soundtrack that best matches your book.

Step 2. Outline the slides you’ll use in your animation. Each slide can either have text or an image. However, if you know how to use PhotoShop or another image editor, you can get the best of both worlds by adding text to your image files. If you’re technically savvy, you can substitute your own soundtrack too.

Step 3. Animoto assigns a length of time to each slide. When your total runtime reaches 30 seconds, you won’t be able to add any more slides. You can edit the slide contents and rearrange the slide order. Click the “Preview Video” button to see your trailer!

THROUGH REMIND STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS CAN SIGN‐UP TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES ON THEIR MOBILE DEVICES. YOU SEND THE MESSAGES FROM YOUR COMPUTER OR MOBILE DEVICE WITHOUT STUDENTS OR PARENTS SEEING YOUR PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER. LIKE REGULAR TEXT MESSAGES THAT YOU MIGHT SEND TO FRIENDS, YOU CAN ATTACH FILES TO MESSAGES THAT YOU SEND THROUGH REMIND. MESSAGES CAN BE SENT TO INDIVIDUALS OR TO GROUPS THAT YOU CREATE IN YOUR REMIND ACCOUNT.

STAMPS IS ONE OF THE TWO OPTIONS THAT REMIND OFFERS FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS TO USE TO INTERACT WITH THE MESSAGES THAT YOU SEND TO THEM. STUDENTS AND PARENTS CAN REPLY TO YOUR REMIND MESSAGES BY SELECTING ONE OF FOUR STAMPS TO INDICATE THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED YOUR MESSAGE AND INDICATE IF THEY NEED FURTHER CLARIFICATION ABOUT YOUR MESSAGE. REMIND ALLEVIATED THAT CONCERN WHEN I SAW THE "OFFICE HOURS" SETTING IN THE REMIND CHAT SERVICE. "OFFICE HOURS" ALLOWS TEACHERS TO SPECIFY WHEN THEY WILL ALLOW CHAT MESSAGES TO BE SENT AND RECEIVED. TEACHERS CAN ALSO PAUSE OR STOP CHAT EXCHANGES
