“ Let Us Rejoice and Be Glad”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, as we continue this unique time in our history with the cancellation of public mass in our Church let

us not forget the we continue to celebrate the presence of our resurrected Lord among us.

Like Mary Magdalene, St. Peter and St. John we have arisen this Easter Day and rush today to marvel and rejoice in the Resurrection

of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They rushed to the empty tomb seeking the risen Lord. While our Church building is empty are hearts

are filled with the joy of the resurrection. Let us rush to watch our Mass on TV (Washington Township Television channel 77 for

Optima and 24 for Verizon) and celebrate, rejoice and be glad.

The risen Lord is among us. May the joy of Easter be in our hearts, in our minds and in our souls during this Holy Easter Season.

May God bless each of us and our families on this Easter Sunday. Let that joy shine through us during these difficult times to give

our world the hope, the joy, the promise and the life that Jesus’ resurrection has brought us.

Let us pray that all people throughout the world will come to know the peace and joy that fills our hearts on this day. We invite

you as Disciples of Christ to share the Good News with your family, friends, neighbors and all those you meet. Our Lord’s victory

is for all creation and our mission is to proclaim this message of mercy, love, peace and joy to all the world.

As I do each year, I like to offer you a prayer for your family gatherings during the Easter Season. As we gather with our families

on this day you might want to say together this prayer. You can also use this prayer at all your family gatherings during this Easter

Season which runs to Pentecost Sunday on May 31st .

God of Glory,

The eyes of all turn to you during this Easter Season

as we celebrate Christ's glorious victory over sin and death.

O Lord we ask You, who blessed the five loaves in the desert and fed the five thousand, give us this day our daily bread the bread

for life’s needs.

May our family be kept safe from all harm and from the Coronavirus Pandemic.

May we who gather at our Family Table

continue to celebrate the joy of his resurrection

and be admitted to the Heavenly Banquet.

O, Lord, bless our family, our friends and all those in need.

We ask you to bless us O Lord and these your gifts, of our Easter meal which we are about to receive from your bounty through

MASS INTENTIONS - Due to the fact that public Masses can

not be celebrated all Mass Intentions are being said by the

priests in private Masses.

NEW DIRECTIVES FROM ARCHDIOCESE

EFFECTIVE MARCH 25, 2020:

Wakes and funerals must be postponed until further notice.

There are no exceptions to this, regardless of the size of the

group. Burials may take place with only the priest.

All Baptisms must be postponed until further notice with the

exception of an extreme emergency.

All weddings are postponed until further notice.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is suspended until further

notice with the exception of an extreme emergency.

All churches and adoration chapels must be closed and locked

until further notice. Private prayer in any parish building must

be discontinued until further notice.

Let us pray this Easter Week that the joy of the Resurrection of

Jesus may touch the hearts and souls of all. May it move us to

a deeper awareness of God’s love for us and His desire to share

His everlasting life with us.

ego can easily become gods to many of us. Do a quick check of

what is important to you. Is God a the very top of the list? If

not, your priorities need to be readjusted. Don’t let earthly

things become a god before God. This is also the first

commandment - I am the Lord your God, you shall not have any

strange gods before me.

APPLICATIONS - The scholarship committee of Mother

Seton Council will again award three scholarships from the

James Picarella Memorial Trust Fund and one Mother Seton
