INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Dear Parishioners, On Friday, the church celebrated the Solemni-ty of the Sacred Heart. On Saturday we celebra-ted the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The heart is a symbol of love. When we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus we remem-ber that God is perfect and almighty but God does not want to be separate from us. He loves us intimately and dearly. God is saddened and offended when we do not love Him or one anot-her in life. God cares about us. When we cele-brate the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we think of Mary as a model of the “new heart” of one who lives by the “new Covenant.” It is Mary who shows us how to respond to the love of Christ in our lives. She shows us how to say a yes lovin-gly to our Savior. This weekend we have the visit of relics of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco. These two saints were canonized on May 13, 2017, and their feast day is on February 20th. We see the depi-ction of them kneeling at the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima on the beautiful mosaic on the apse of our church and now we have this oppor-tunity to venerate their relics. Veneration or ho-noring the relics of saints is part of the tradition of the church which helps the faithful to remem-ber and imitate the virtues of the lives of saints that helped them to get closer to God. We also believe that the saints can help us from their pla-ce in heaven by interceding on our behalf to God. Let us thank God for the wonderful opportuni-ties that he gives to us in the church to make progress on the way to salvation.

Queridos Feligreses: El viernes, la iglesia celebró la solemnidad del Sagrado Corazón. El sábado celebramos el Me-morial del Inmaculado Corazón de María. El corazón es un símbolo de amor. Cuando cele-bramos el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, recorda-mos que Dios es perfecto y todopoderoso, pero Dios no quiere estar alejado de nosotros. Él nos ama íntima y cariñosamente. Dios se entristece y se ofende cuando no lo amamos a Él o los unos a los otros en la vida. Dios se preocupa por noso-tros Cuando celebramos el Inmaculado Corazón de María, pensamos en María como un modelo del "corazón nuevo" de alguien que vive según la "nueva Alianza”. Es María quien nos muestra cómo responder al amor de Cristo en nuestras vidas. . Ella nos muestra cómo decir un sí amo-rosamente a nuestro Salvador. Este fín de semana tenemos la visita de reli-quias de Santa Jacinta y San Francisco. Estos dos santos fueron canonizados el 13 de mayo de 2017 y su fiesta es el 20 de febrero. Vemos la re-presentación de ellos arrodillados ante la apari-ción de Nuestra Señora de Fátima en el hermoso mosaico en el ábside de nuestra iglesia y ahora tenemos la oportunidad de venerar sus reliquias. Venerar o honrar las reliquias de los santos es parte de la tradición de la iglesia que ayuda a los fieles a recordar e imitar las virtudes de las vi-das de los santos que les ayudaron a acercarse a Dios. También creemos que los santos pueden ayudarnos desde su lugar en el cielo intercedien-do en nuestro nombre a Dios. Demos gracias a Dios por las maravillosas oportunidades que nos da en la iglesia para avanzar en el camino hacia la salvación.
