    COLLECTION INFORMATION

    Aug. 17/18: $5,717 July Online Giving: $4,450

    SACRAMENT OF THE SICK

Join us the last weekend of each month after the 4:00PM and 11:00AM Masses to receive the healing touch of the Lord.

    RCIA

In celebrating this month of Our Lady’s final journey to God in her glorious Assumption, let us ask her motherly intercession to draw souls to the Sacred Heart of her Son. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey too—of conversion to God and what he intends for us. RCIA is the process by which persons who were never baptized, or were baptized in another Christian tradition, become members of the Church, a people on pilgrimage to our Heavenly Father. If you are interested or know someone who is, please contact Sharon in the parish office and one of our RCIA team members will reach out to you.

August 25 ~ Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time Isaiah is speaking on behalf of the Lord, directly to us: “...proclaim my glory among the nations.” This might seem like too much of a challenge. Take a few minutes to ask God to whom should you be proclaiming God’s glory? Is it a family member, a co-worker, a friend? Tell YOUR story of the importance of Jesus in your life. And, in case we think that task is for someone else, the Church in her wisdom reminds each one of us in today’s psalm refrain: “Go out to all the world and tell the good news!”

OUR LADY’S ACADEMY: JOB OPPORTUNITY PART-TIME

Our Lady’s is seeking Youth Leaders/Counselors for the Little Saints After School Program. Spend time with the children by helping them with arts/crafts, homework, chapel time, cooking and other fun activities. Flexible work schedules are available. If interested, please contact Jacqueline Ashba in the After School Office at 781-899-0206. Send Resume to [email protected].

    MEMORIAL GUILD

Jean M. McCarthy was enrolled in Our Lady’s Memorial Guild at the request of Pat and John Coller.

    LABOR DAY MASS

Please note that Mass on Labor Day, Monday, September 2 will be celebrated at 9:00am.

Looking to join the Choir? We will be welcoming back the adult choir on Sunday, September 15 at the 11:00am Mass. We are always looking for new members to spread the good news through song. All you need to possess is a love for music and a desire to sing! Our rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm. Our first rehearsal will be held on Thursday, September 12. For those interested in joining, please reach out to our Music Director, Greg Castano at [email protected] or 781-894-3481 x8.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION GRADES ONE - EIGHT Our Lady's Religious Education Program for Grades 1-8 begins with a Parent Meeting on Sunday, September 8 at 10AM in the Cafeteria. Actual classes begin the following Sunday, September 15 at 10AM and please first go the Cafeteria to see which classroom your children are assigned. Dismissal is from the upstairs Gym at 11:15AM. Thank you for the many registrations received! We are in need of teachers/aides for our youngest students in Grade One eager and happy to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus as a member of His Church. Also needed are co-teachers/aides for Grades 3, 4, 5 would be greatly appreciated. You can help this year as little or as much as you can as we encourage "team teaching". We have many children registered so as problems go, this is a good problem to need more help because of the size of our program. This is an active parish! I am happy to show you the books and simply chat with no obligation. Please visit olca.org or contact Felicia Forger at 781-894-3481 x3 or [email protected] for a registration form and calendar for the coming year. We look forward to a great year. Thank You and Blessings!

    OUR LADY’S CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

Our Lady’s Confirmation Program for 2019-2020 will begin on Sunday, September 15th with class in the school. Students please first go to the cafeteria at 9:50AM to see which classroom you are assigned. Class is over at 10:50AM. Grade ten please bring the workbook you received last year, and grade nine will receive their Confirmation workbooks. Students are blessed again with returning teachers for which we are most grateful! However, this year we are in need of another Grade 10 teacher(s) who will “job share” the class times with another teacher already in place – about half the classes, 6 times from now until April. Dynamic Catholic “Decision Point” is the curriculum used which is engaging and interesting both for teachers and students – very teen and user friendly! This “job share” could be among a number of parents because the structure of the book is easily understood and divided. Our Confirmation Program is for students in grades nine and ten attending public, private and parochial schools. The program consists of classroom instruction and discussion, service to the parish and community, written assignment, field trips and Retreat attendance. The Confirmation calendar and registration form are available on the parish web site: www.olca.org. Classes begin shortly so please register if you haven’t yet done so. Please contact Felicia Forger at 781-894-3481 x3 or [email protected] to register or see the workbooks or ask any questions or to simply chat about joining this ministry with no obligation. Thank you and Blessings!

    OUR LADY’S FOOD PANTRY

Our Lady’s St. Vincent de Paul assists the needy of the parish. The food pantry collection is the third weekend of each month. Requested donations: Canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soup, canned hams, canned beef stew, mayonnaise, jars of pasta sauce, pasta, peanut butter, jelly, bath soap, dish soap, paper towels, children’s snacks. Thank you.

    ST. VINCENT DEPAUL BOXES

Our Lady’s St. Vincent dePaul continues to quietly help many people without fundraising. The only income comes from occasional donations from parishioners, but mostly from the 4 blue metal boxes we have located at the doors of the church. Perhaps the next time you walk in OR out of church, you might notice the box and drop some coins or more which will greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.
