AIMS OF LES FORMATION

1. Formation for the Lasallian mission: definition and purpose of formation.

Lasallian formation is the professional, personal and spiritual training and development in alignment with Lasallian values and practices. It is a process which helps people to internalise the elements of what it is to be “Lasallian”. It involves accompanying people in this process of discovery.

The aim of all our Lasallian formation is to inspire a passion for, and strengthen commitment to, the mission of providing a human and Christian education for young people, especially those most in need.

AIMS OF LES FORMATION2. Familiarisation with the Lasallian story and heritage-

desired outcomes. The shared Lasallian charism provides us with a common understanding,

and a common framework that articulates who we are, what our Mission is, and the implications of this framework for how we operate, as individuals and organizations. This shared ethos ideally shapes all relationships, policies and practices within our workplaces.

Our heritage provides us with a rich resource for study, through the writings of De La Salle and associated historical documents. Such study provides us with:a sound academic background and understandinga rekindling of the vision of the ideals and values that make our works Lasalliana practical and relevant frame of reference
