Bucknell students visited a working strip mine operation near Trevorton March 30
where Vince Guarna, left, mine owner, conducted them on a tour. Students are en-
rolled in an interdisciplinary course called Susquehanna Country which is taught
by Alf Siewers, a professor of English, and Katie Faull, a professor of German and
humanities who is director of the Program in Comparative Humanities. The tour
was arranged by the Mother Maria Kaupas Center.

The Bucknell University Student Athlete Advisory Committee
(SAAC) sponsored a drive in which athletes at Bucknell donated
canned food items for needy or homebound people to be distrib-
uted through the Mother Maria Kaupas Center in Mount Carmel.
