Newsletter Week 9, Term 4

Final Newsletter for 2019

This is our final newsletter for the year. On behalf of our staff I would like to wish our families a safe and happy holiday. Staff will be at school until next Friday, 21st December. The answering machine will be checked periodically over the holidays and we will return to school for staff development day on Tuesday, 29th January. All students K-6 return on Wednesday, 30th January.

Classes for 2019

Our plan for class structure and staffing for 2019 is as follows. Please note that things can change over the holidays, but we do not expect any significant changes to this plan.

Kindergarten – Miss Authers (moving into the current 1/2 classroom) Year 1/2 – Miss Potter (moving into the current Kindergarten classroom) Year 2/3 – Mrs Halliday (remaining in her current classroom) Year 4/5 – Mr Lowrey (remaining in his current classroom) Year 6 – Mr Pommer (in the current 2/3 classroom) Mrs Hazell – Release From Face to Face (library), Learning and Support, and

Instructional Leader. Mrs Hunter – Release from Face to Face Mrs Davies – Student Learning Support Officer (four half days per week) and

School Administrative Officer (four half days per week). Mrs McCabe - School Administrative Office (Friday) Mrs Compton – Full time School Administrative Manager.

Mr Onslow - General Assistant (Friday)

Semester 2 Reports Today we sent home our Semester 2 academic reports. If your child does not bring their report home for any reason, please contact the office as soon as possible. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the reports, please contact your child’s teacher to make an appointment.

Presentation Night I would like to express my thanks to our staff, students and community for attend-ing our annual presentation night on Tuesday. It was a wonderful night and ran very smoothly. Thank you in particular to Mrs Compton, assisted by Mrs Davies, for their outstanding organisation and to the many families who contributed to the supper.

Library Books It would be much appreciated if all library books could be returned to school next week. They can be returned to the office at any time.

Year 6 Volley Ball Game Our hotly contested staff vs year 6 volley ball game will take place next Wednesday at 2.15pm. All families are welcome to watch the staff dominate the game and come away victorious.

Class Parties Our class parties will take place next Tuesday, 18th December. Our school dance group, managed and choreographed by Joslyn and Kiara, will perform their dance to kick start the parties immediately after lunch. Please note, there are no out of uniform days next week.

HOLIDAY FUN – MAITLAND CITY LIBRARY

CURIOUS CREATURES

Discover the world of curious creatures these school holidays. Our school holiday activities are all about creatures, real to the imagined, the mythological to the robotic. There are Dr Seuss, Fantastic Beasts and Crazy Critters on the Move activities or make a robotic buzzbot or a creature feature movie. Kids too can be curious creatures at the Body Detective and Curious Kids Science Workshop or explore your artistic side at the Fantastic Sea Creatures Art Workshop.
