As an aspiring designer, I believe in a holistic vision of design considering both functional and aesthetical dimensions in my approach. For me design is not a verb neither a noun. It is rather a state of mind that concurs a designer where he looks at everything around him through the design lens.

Contrast Integration Diversity
Form follows function or function follows form, this has always been a debate in the design scene for years. My architectural engineering background along side my work in the creative industry had the greatest impact on my perception of design, seeing that it is not only with the function as the engineers want, neither with the form as the designers see, but rather with the experience as the dreamers, like me, dream.
In music industry, as well many other creative fields, the ones who make the greatest impact are those who adopt a new technique integrating and mixing various instruments and languages resulting a new breed of art. Similarly I believe that in design world, integration of different tools, fields and techniques is the key. A powerful team player is the one who understands deeply how other members work to incorporate easily with the team.
A designer needs constant feed of inspiration. My travels and multicultural experiences in Egypt, Japan, USA, UK, Korea and finally Germany had the biggest influence in forming my personality. Living the experience makes you learn much more about a certain culture and its needs. I can't bet if I know the same tricks that a local designer do, but I can assure that I know many others.

Realization
The Creative Process is not an instantaneous act. Not either a verb as some propose. It is rather an experience in which a designer has to live. Although sometimes in big practices a designer is only specialised in a certain task, understanding and practicing the whole design process is highly important for efficient integration with other team members and departments.

Prototyping is a very important process for both ideation phase and presentation. Paper and foam models are used in ideation phase for quick testing and validation of concepts. While Rapid prototyping techniques using CAD data is used for projects presentations.

Product usability tests, analysis and recommend improvements for a cappuccino machine project. 20 tests were performed in users' own environment testing different scenarios and tasks.
For user centred design, Usability Testing is vital in all project phases; Testing for former and competitors' models gives analysis for existing problems, testing low fidelity mock-ups validates ideas while testing final products is important before market release.

Some ideas die on papers before birth. Others make it to life. Realization of a project comes when the creation is brought from just ideas on papers or pc into a functioning product.

Stage DesignTEDxCairo
Client: TedxCairoDate: 2012Design team members: Osama Aboelezz, Mohamed Yassin and Sherif El-Tarabishy
Brief: Design and supervising the production of the stage and outdoor space of TEDxCairo's 2012 event themed "Collisions".
111
Collisions take place all the time between atoms resulting in the creation of new particles. Likewise, we humans collide with each other or rather our ideologies, notions and patterns of behaviour do.
The theme for 2012 event was "Collisions" highlighting the relative diversity among us and showcasing the wide array of infinite possible creative outcomes.
Designers approached the collisions theme differently, colliding unlike patterns together, and showing that collision is not a negative action, rather a process that could produce a interesting result,
Pattern was developed using an experimental method with Rhino and Grasshopper by creating a panel surface, applying some transformations to the surface Z direction, and finally trying out various patterns that follows the surface curvature.
113
Colliding patterns, where the main screen in which the talks and presentations are shown is the core of the collision process.
115
Pattern was perforated and back-lit in 8 3*1m steel plates hanged from above. Seeking a dynamic stage experience, 4 lighting colours for the stage was selected to create different moods for the 4 sessions of the event. In addition, lighting played as visual music analyser when music was performed.
117
119
Outdoor space design was also considered including loungers, break activities, food and beverage areas, sponsors and partners booths and outdoor screening lounger (sponsored by Coca cola).
