Encrypted Storage Solutions

Mobile work forces are an important part of any modern day corporate environment, allowing employees to work where and when they choose. Many organisations issue laptops in preference to standard desktop PCs in order to facilitate the Mobile Workforce, but by doing this without utilising modern encryption techniques, they are also jeopardising the security of sensitive and confidential information in areas outside of their control.

With over 3500 laptops going missing every week in European airports and the average cost of a data breach to an organisation currently at £1.7 million (€1.87 million); it’s now imperative that organisations take extra precautions to protect the data stored on all their computer systems, especially laptops.

Why Hardware Encryption?

Products with hardware based cryptographic chips manage the encryption keys and perform the encrypting/decrypting routines. This means that your PCs processor will not be slowed down and the products run more securely than any software based encryption system.

What Is AES?

The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a symmetric-key encryption standard adopted by the U.S. Government. The AES ciphers have been analysed extensively and are now used worldwide as the default standard for encrypting data.

Do I Need 128 Bit Or 256 Bit?

This will depend largely on the type of data to be secured and any regulatory requirements you must conform to. To secure general company documents a 128 Bit device may be suitable however if you are securing financial information, 3rd party details, medical history or classified data then a 256 Bit device would meet your requirements.

What Is FIPS 140-2?

Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2(FIPS 140-2) is a standard that describes US Federal government requirements that IT products should meet for Sensitive, but unclassified data. FIPS 140-2 certification has become a widely used method for organisations and their associated regulators to determine if an encrypted product is suitable for use by themselves and/or members.

What is Enigma?

What happens if yours or your user’s laptop keyboard stops working or meets with an accidental spillage of liquid?

Normally you would have to replace the laptop with a new one which can be costly and time consuming.

However this is no longer the case with Origin’s comprehensive range of replacement laptop internal keyboards. We have extensive availability for most makes and models of Dell laptops with UK and most other EU language layouts available from stock for immediate delivery.

Other non-EU language layouts can be obtained on request and are usually available within a couple of days.

Keyboards for other makes of laptops can also be sourced on request, just contact our Sales team for more details.

We are able to supply a wide range of rack mounting solutions including server cabinets, server racks, fixed/sliding shelves, rail kits and associated accessories.

All our rack mounting solutions are fully compatible with all major manufacturers’ equipment including Dell, HP Compaq, IBM, Sun, Apple and Fujitsu.

Our server cabinets and racks are designed to hold computers, servers, rack mount monitors, KVM switches and network equipment. They meet all EIA standards for 19” server racks and meet or exceed all OEM requirements for ventilation. We can supply cabinets from 18U to 42U high and portable, shock isolated, transport cases in 6U or 8U heights.

If you have non-rack mountable equipment we have a range of fixed and sliding shelves that are suitable for tower servers, desktops, routers and switches. We have half shelves for smaller equipment and heavy duty shelves for up to 226kgs of equipment.
