At Oregon Children’s Theatre, we want you to have the best possible time together at every performance. It brings us joy to see your smiles. We love to share our passion for quality family theater.
We are so excited about our upcoming shows and hope you will be too!
Stan Foote, Artistic Director
ne of the very best things about my job is seeing you, the audience, enter the theater. I love seeing families of all configurations walking into the rotunda and celebrating all that it means to be a family! Or taking pictures in front of
the show banner, sitting on the giant brass chair, and meeting the cast after the show. It’s delightful to hear feedback from you about your experiences.
From the many comments we received last year, here are my favorites:
Welcome to our 2015-2016 season!
AWAR
D-WINNING
THEATER
“Just the pure joy on my grandchildren’s
faces. This is a special outing that we do regularly.”
“So very well done... Our
family of four—including
our 12-year-old son—
LOVED it!”
“Great acting and singing. Very professional and fun. Clever set.”
“The show was great, and the post-show
autographs sealed the experience. It was a great family
experience!”
“By far the best mother-son date
we’ve ever had and the highlight of our
weekend!”
“The quality of the
acting was as good as the
best performances I’ve seen
in 30+ years of frequent
theatergoing.”

the miraculous journey
of edward tulane
“Exquisite language, inventive plot twists, and memorable characters.” —Publishers Weekly
Tossed overboard, thrown in a garbage heap, stuck in a hobo’s knapsack, and used as a scarecrow, Edward, a vain rabbit doll, unexpectedly undertakes a perilous 20-year journey. Along the way, he sheds his arrogance, and his heart grows bigger and softer as he discovers the importance of people, friendship, and love.

NOV 5 – NOV 15, 2015
Great Shows for Teens! Young Professionals (YPs) are dedicated theater students—ages 14 and up—who seek advanced training through exposure to a wide range of college-level workshops and professional development. The YP program is dedicated to building a supportive community of theater peers, providing them with resources, training, and professional on-the-job experience.
All performances by the YP Company are held in OCT’s YP Studio Theater at 1939 NE Sandy (at 20th Ave). Tickets sell out quickly!
Oct’s young professionals
company season
Impactful and poignant, this close look at teen dynamics creates a charged theatrical event that explores the destructive power of rumor, the search for identity, and the peer pressure that accompanies it.
“…A writer with a true sense of how young people speak and handle confrontation. Never before has the mantra of ‘sticks and stones’ seemed so trite. Names can indeed hurt, break, and destroy.” —Ron Simonian, Pitch Weekly, Kansas City

A drama by Laurie Brooks. The Wrestling Season was commissioned by the Coterie Theatre and developed at the Kennedy Center’s New Visions/New Voices and New York University’s Program in Educational Theatre. Produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

Are we at the precipice of dramatic change? From this question comes Chrysalis, a modern-day myth that explores transformations in the teen years. From out of hibernation, new creatures emerge. Be a part of the journey—whimsical and at times terrifying.
