The LSU OMS Review Course is a live educational activity designed specifically for oral and maxillofacial surgery practitioners and residents who desire a comprehensive review that focuses on all phases of oral and maxillofacial surgery and advanced cosmetic maxillofacial surgery. It emphasizes critical areas of surgery with scientific support and prepares surgeons and residents for specialty examinations. At the conclusion of this comprehensive, six-day activity, participants should be able to identify, define, understand, and discuss the following areas of OMS and cosmetic maxillofacial surgery: preprosthetic surgery; dental implants; distraction osteogenesis principles; the medical risk patient; TMJ; mandibular and facial fractures; facial skin rejuvenation; dentofacial deformities; oral and maxillofacial infectious diseases; dentoalveolar surgery; maxillary and mandibular reconstruction; blepharoplasty and upper and lower facial rejuvenation; rhinoplasty and otoplasty; the trauma patient; soft tissue injuries; obstructive sleep apnea; craniofacial syndromes; anesthesia; orthognathic/cosmetic surgery; the cleft lip and palate patient; and oral, head and neck pathology.

The New Orleans Marriott is the host hotel for LSU’s OMS Review Course and for LSU’s Advanced Cosmetic Maxillofacial Surgery (ACMS) Course.

Because of the special $139 rate, its location, and the fact that all course sessions for the OMS Review (and the first day of the ACMS course) will be held at the New Orleans Marriott, why would you want to stay anywhere else? The hotel is conveniently located at 555 Canal Street on the edge of the French Quarter, near world-famous restaurants, popular nightspots, and the Mississippi River. For a map, directions, a photo tour of the hotel, and a visitor’s guide to New Orleans, log onto www.marriott.com/msyla. Free wireless internet service is available in public areas of the hotel. Rooms are wired with high-speed internet available for a daily fee.

* Resident registration must be accompanied by a letter from your program director.

Participants will receive a digital copy of handouts at no charge. Paper copies of ACMS handout materials (3 manuals) are $75.00. All orders for printed handouts must be received by LSU Health CDE no later than Wednesday, August, 21, 2013.
