Diagnosis• The diagnosis of candidiasis in clinical practice is usually
established by the clinical signs in conjunction with exfoliative cytoiogic examination, Although a culture can definitively identify the organism as C. albtcans
• biopsy should be performed to rule out the possibility of C. olbicans super imposed on epithelial dysplasia, squamous cell carcinoma, or lichen planus,The definitive identification of the organism can be made by means of culture. A specimen for culture is obtained by rubbing a sterile colton swab over the lesion.

Treatment
Topical Systmic
Nystatin ( 100,000 units )
Pastilles QDS for 7-10 days
Fluconzole ( 50 mg/day) for 7-10 days
Miconazole gel ( 24 mg/ml ) Apply QDS 10 days
itraconzole ( 100 mg/day) for 14 days
Fusidic acid creamFor angular stomatitis
Ketoconazole ( 200 mg/day) for 7-14 days
