Requirements

Quotation processes for variant rich products can be accelerated by using a product configurator.

In this case, in addition to the quotation, there is often the need for further product description documents (such as circuit diagrams, dimensional drawings, pro-duct documentation in PDF format and CAD models in various formats) in more than one language

They should be produced in a simple way, be intuitive to use and always in an accessible form. From an inter-nal IT point of view, it is considered important that the product manager can independently maintain product knowledge and that there is a seamless inte gration into the existing system landscape (e.g. in SAP R/3). Negligible TCO, e.g. the avoidance of unnecessary license costs, are an additional business requirement.

TheINKASplatform

it-motive AG’s extremely high-performing platform can be started as a configurator in different optional modes for internal target groups (technical sales, Intranet) or by external customers (using Extranet or Internet). It is also available offline on DVD.

Themodules

Due to its modular construction, the INKAS platform can be customized to meet specific requirements.

In this way, software functionality can be provided separately in the form of modules e.g. product model creation, CAD model export.

it-motive AG is continually enhancing these module building blocks and supplies them to its customers free of license.

The possibility of unlimited enhancement can of course be also used for integrating in-house solutions.

The service module contains ready-made interfaces e.g. to SAP R/3, EPIM, ADOBE, ORACLE or other systems.
