  • Opmanteks COSS model

  • Gartner Quote

By 2012, 80 per cent of all commercial soXware will include elements of open-source technology. Many open-source technologies are mature, stable and well supported. They provide signicant opportuniNes for vendors and users to lower their total cost of ownership and increase returns on investment. Ignoring this will put companies at a serious compeNNve disadvantage.

  • NMIS Features/Benets Area NMIS

Fault Management mulN-customer and policy based alerts based on customer

Performance Management very strong including device based and mulN-customer reporNng. NMIS has a unique overall Health Metric built through analysis of thousands of customers.

ConguraNon Management Strong - with opCong module

Availability NMIS measures the availability of devices based on policies mulN-customer, mulN-groups with groups being able to be reported on individually and rolled up into overall availability.

  • Area NMIS

    Capacity Planning mulN-customer, policy based

Mapping high funcNon geographical maps leveraging Google Maps.

ReporNng Due to open database and source code reporNng is highly customizable and exible. NMIS has automated expert analysis through exisNng reports.

    SLA Programmable/Monitoring

enNre system is policy based and mulN-customer. SLAs can be per customer, per device, per group of devices and are simply administered and graphically represented in reports.

    NMIS Features/Benets

  • Area NMIS

NoNcaNon and EscalaNon Events are logged and noNcaNons including emails and SMS can be sent, events are managed and subject to escalaNon

SummarisaNon All collected data is summarised into dashboards which highlight key areas to be invesNgated

    NMIS Features/Benets

  • NMIS - InnovaNons Distributed Polling Allowing massive networks to be simply

managed while providing zero cost redundancy of the network management system itself

Business Policy Engine Allows the management system to manage the business impact of an event

Automated, Live, Base Lining including color coded (trac light) informaNon which measures performance and reliability against previous performance and reliability and against a service level dened within the business rule set

Performance and fault data in a single poll cycle only polls for informaNon dened within the device modeling engine and boasts the rare accomplishment of being able to combine the collecNon of fault and performance data in a single poll cycle.

  • NMIS8 Architecture

  • Modeling Process 1. Collect From Device:

    sysDescr sysObjectId

    2. Determine the Vendor: Compare the sysObjectID to the Enterprises dened in Enterprise.nmis

    3. Auto-discovery model: Using the Vendor name and sysDescr compare to the model deniNons in Model.nmis

    4. Load the model: Use the model result from Model.nmis

    5. Load the data: Use this model to collect device specic informaNon from the device.

  • Opmantek offers an early adopter programme for emerging products

Selected customers (2-3 maximum) have input into the development of new product ensuring that the product aligns with their requirements

Opmantek co-funds delivery and implementation of the product

Assuming customer requirements/requests can be reused, Opmantek builds them in to the product

The early adopter receives the product they want as requirements have been captured during development

The early adopter receives the product rapidly

Opmantek receives the benefit of customer input into the requirements and development

    Early Adopter Programme

  • Modeling a Device 1. Have to collect

informaNon from a device 2. The supported MIBS for

the device 3. SNMPWALK of the device

is usually enough 4. Review the MIB for the

  • Working together since July 2011.

Opmantek was engaged by Telmex and HP to remove portions of HP

software that were not working and implement NMIS in place

HP worked for 9 months to fix issues with the system:

    - Not scaling

    - Not supporting some of the devices the customer required support for meaning CNOC would lose the entire contract

    - Impossible to integrate into reporting process

    - Not designed to support overlapping IP address.

Open-AudIT intelligently scans an organizaNons network and stores the conguraNons of the discovered devices A powerful reporNng framework enables informaNon such as soXware licensing, conguraNon changes, non-authorized devices, capacity uNlizaNon and hardware warranty status (amongst others).
