Operation Soup Line 2009 Wrap-Up We would like to say a Big THANK YOU to everyone involved in making the 6th Annual Operation Soup Line a Success! We served nearly 1,000 people lunch (between attendees and delivery orders) in 2 1/2 hours! The weather was nice - cold enough for soup and chili, but NO rain, snow or sleet this year! We definitely felt blessed! Operation Soup Line in Doorstep’s biggest fundraiser each year and it takes numerous people to make the event happen. We have corporate community sponsors each year to cover our expenses, board members and coordinators who all do their part in planning, publicizing, selling tickets, making theme baskets and helping at the event. We have community volunteers who show up on the day and help with whatever needs to be done and we have celebrity servers willing to dish up the soup and chili for a good cause. This year was our most successful to date in numbers served and money raised. We made over $13,000 this year which will assist throughout the year with services such as rent and utility assistance. Again, THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported Doorstep through Operation Soup Line in whatever way you could! Delivery Order Preparation Tecumseh Kiwanis, Fraternity & Sorority Groups Help with Event Set-Up. Volunteers in the kitchen help with drinks and dessert preparation.
