When We All Get To Heaven

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and His graceIn the mansions bright and blessed, He’ll prepare for us a place.

Refrain: When we all get to Heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will beWhen we all see Jesus, We’ll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway, clouds will over-spread the skyBut when traveling days are over, not a shadow, not a sigh.

Let us then be true and faithful, trusting, serving every dayJust one glimpse of Him in glory, will the toils of life repay.

Onward to the prize before us! Soon His beauty we’ll behold;Soon the pearly gates will open; We shall tread the streets of gold.

ObituaryARMAND JESSELL DILBERT

On March 27, 2018, Armand Jessell Dilbert, husband, father, son, and brother passed away suddenly while at sea,at the age of 67 years.

Armand was born in Cayman Brac on January 15, 1951, the second child of Murphy and Valma Dilbert. He waspreceded in birth by older sister Andree (Annie) and followed by younger sister, Lorna. At the age of 5 years helost his father tragically and this would change the course of his life. To support her young family his mother Valmamoved to Grand Cayman in 1958 to find employment at the Pageant Beach Hotel where she met and marriedLeonard Hew. The family would move to Kingston, Jamaica in 1964 where Armand spent his early high schoolyears and excelled in swimming competitions. Three years later the family would return to Grand Caymanpermanently and Armand’s love for the ocean took him to sea at the young age of 15, where he worked and trainedas a sailor under Capt. Shelby Hydes on the Kirk Trader. He later worked on various vessels including the KirkDale and then joined his uncles Cleveland Dilbert and Ordway Bodden on the National Bulk Carrier ship, theUniverse Commander. During this time he honed his skills at seamanship and navigation.

After a few years at sea, Armand decided to spend time in New York with Uncles Allenby Bodden and ClevelandDilbert working in construction. Returning to Grand Cayman permanently in the mid-seventies he joined the RCIPas an officer before continuing in the field of construction with Hadsphaltic International and later on as aself-employed contractor. His skilled workmanship is evident in many homes and offices in Grand Cayman andCayman Brac. But Armand’s love for the sea never wavered and, as often as he could, he would leave hisconstruction work to enjoy his favourite hobbies of offshore fishing and piloting vessels to Cayman from the USA.These hobbies would give him many enjoyable times and adventures with his family and friends.

Those who were fortunate to know Armand, remember him as a fun loving, generous person who was alwayswilling to share his catch or his harvest. His jokes, pranks and teasing created many memorable moments with hisfamily and friends. Everyone has a fond memory or story about Armand which brings laughter and joy.

Left to mourn is his wife, Lizeth Dilbert, children Sophia, Bessanio, Nino, David, Tamara, Melissa, Armand Jr.,Samantha and Brayan, stepdaughters Sindy Vindel, Alejandra Vindel, stepsons Mario Vindel, Rendell, Donny andMitchell Moore.

Grandchildren: Tyler Lawson, Nathan Lawson, Renee Dilbert, Lacie Dilbert, Damian Norton, Fraya Dilbert,Emma Dilbert, Alyssa Garcia, Ethan Dilbert, Cassidy Dilbert, Joseph Ebanks, Adam Dilbert, Amelia Dilbert andLandunne Dilbert.

Graveside Service

AThe family of the late Armand Dilbert wish to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness shown to them throughout this

difficult time. A special thank you to the Cayman Islands Seafarers Association for their kind support.

The Old Rugged CrossOn a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame;

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best, for a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain: So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay downI will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it some day for a crown.

O, the old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me;For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above, to bear it to dark Calvary.

In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see;For ‘twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true, its shame and reproach gladly bear; Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away, when His glory forever I’ll share.

Amazing GraceAmazing grace! How sweet the sound,

that saved a wretch like me!I once was lost but now am found,

was blind but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appearthe hour I first believed.

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,I have already come,

‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praisethan when we’d first begun.
