CL deployment history

First CL deployment in the year 2004, specifically CLA PB01 (CzechLight Amplifier 2in1, Booster and Preamplifier) was on Praha – Plzeň line with length of 159km in CzechLight EF and on Praha – Hradec Králové, length of 150km in CESNET2 network.

Since March 2005 CLA DI01 has been successfully working on CzechLight EF line Praha-Brno, 284km, as one and only in-line amplifier.

At the beginning of 2006 CLA PB01 was equipped on the first Cross Border Fibre (CBF) line Brno – Bratislava 182km. In the middle of 2006 CBF Brno – Vienna, 221 km, was deployed by a new prototype CLA PB02.

Lit service on single fibre

Open DWDM advantage : can be used on single fibre lines

Price of single fibre leasing is about 60% of pair of fibres price

Lighting of single fibre is cost effective. We use it to achieve dual access to some PoPs of CESNET2 under available budget

Lit fibre service

Newly developed types of CL equipments or lit services are tested on Experimental Facility

Tested services developed by CESNET can be ordered as service Our providers of dark fibre and lit fibres services

ČD-Telematika, a.s. České radiokomunikace, a.s. GTS Novera s.r.o. Tűrk Telecom (Invitel International CZ s.r.o.) Sloane Park Property Trust a.s.

Providers have acquired experience with new type of service based on Open DWDM photonic system developed and licensed by CESNET and can offer this new type of service to other customers

CESNET licences for CL family equipment obtained by Optokon Co., Ltd, spol. s r.o. and RLC Praha a.s.

CESNET licences are available for other companies

Transition of photonic lambdas between Cisco DWDM and CL DWDM

Implementation of accurate time signal transfer demonstrates the capabilities of photonic networks

Photonic transmission took place on operational lines during Czech-Austrian experiment on March 1 and 2 which compared the time scales of atomic clocks
