Special on Saturday, the Bronx Council on the Arts’ Bronx Culture Trolley Saturdays will shuttle visitors from Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos to studios and art spaces in Mott Haven from 12:00  5:00pm. Rides on the trolley and all events are free and open to the public. The 4th Annual offers a rare opportunity to visit artists’ private studios not ordinarily open to the public, and last year more than forty artists participated. Maps for this self-guided tour will be available soon at www.bronxarts.org and during the tour at all participating locations. For more info, please call 718-401-7866. The weekend starts Friday night, April 30th from 7:00-10:00pm, at the opening party All Along the Clocktower at 112 Lincoln Avenue, featuring live bands and a preview show of artists’ work on view during the tour. On Saturday, catch the Bronx Culture Trolley Saturdays starting at noon at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos (718-518-6728, 450 Grand Concourse, near the 2, 4, and 5 trains at the 149 St-Grand Concourse station) where the exhibitions …in the City: Memory, Places and Spaces; Transmit-Transit; and Impractical Hats: Indie Crafts Reinvent Everyday Gear are on view. Visitors are invited to hop on and off the trolley all afternoon until 5:00pm. Easily accessible via the 4, 5 and 6 subway lines, Mott Haven has also been home to a number of art spaces and apartment galleries in the last ten years, including The Bronx Blue Bedroom Project, Ironworks Gal- lery, Hagan Saint Philip Gallery, Haven Arts Gallery, Spanic Attack, Storage Art Space, the Synthetic Zero Art Space, and now BronxArtSpace, Bruckner Gallery, and LDR Studio Gallery. The Bronx Museum of the Arts and The Bronx Council on the Arts’ own Longwood Art Gallery are nearby. Each Bronx Culture Trolley Saturdays event offers unique programming and runs during the daytime, comple- menting the long running evening First Wednesdays Bronx Culture Trolley. The next Saturday trolley will be May 15 during Bronx Week, and will visit Westchester Square and Tremont Avenue. Visit www.bronxarts.org for schedule and updates. The Bronx Culture Trolley Saturdays’ vehicle is wheelchair accessible.
