NEWSLETTER APRIL 2015
A message from
I knelt before the cross of Christ
I knelt down there to pray,
But when I looked into His eyes
I had no words to say.
Through tear filled eyes, I dimly saw
That cruel crown of thorns,
Those nail scarred hands
That bleeding side
I realised, for me he died,
I hung my head and cried.
The world around had disappeared
There was just my Lord and me,
Again I looked through tear filled eyes
To my Lord upon that tree.
Again I saw that crown of thorns,
Those nail scarred hands
That bleeding side,
And on His cheek I saw a tear
And I hung my head and cried
Ces Lawson
And then I heard a voice so sweet
A voice that called my name,
I looked at Him through tear filled eyes
And a heart so full of shame;
I whispered “please forgive me Lord
For what I’ve put you through,
That crown of thorns
Those cruel nails
That bleeding side
For me You died,”
Then I hung my head and cried.
Again that sweet voice spoke to me
And called me by my name,
It is for you my child I die
It is for you I came.
Your sins are all forgiven now
My death has set your free,
You are a child of God, you know,
Made for eternity.

HARMONY NEWS
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from flailing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies
grow In Flanders fields.
Lt. Col. John McCrae, May 1915

STAY N PLAY CORNER—Wishing you all a safe and Happy Easter
We are celebrating National Playgroup Week at Stay n Play. This year the theme is Connecting Communities
through Play, for our activity we are making a collage of our families’ handprints representing leaves on a tree, the
growth and unity of our community.
Stay n Play was lucky enough to receive a voucher for $50 from Playgroup Queensland to purchase resources from
Educational Experience. This will go towards buying some magnifying glasses for our room.
We have also been making bubbles, very large bubbles in fact. There was a lot of squealing, laughter and chasing
involved in this activity—from young and not so young.—Jillian
GARDENING TIPS
Sometime soon (I hope), the heat of Summer
should be gone and we will move towards a
nice cool winter.
Most of us think of Spring as the season for
gardening, but in fact, Winter is a good time
for planting new gardens. This is because as
very little growing is happening above the
ground with your plants in Winter, they are
concentrating their growth beneath the soil,
establishing a good strong root system.
So apart from the obvious, that it is more
pleasant to be out in the garden when it isn’t
so hot, it is a good time for establishing
healthy plants as well. They also have time
to acclimatise to the position, and the sun
etc. before the heat of Summer.
Happy Gardening, Dawn
ENTER AS STRANGERS, LEAVE AS
6 cups water
½ cup dishwashing liquid
½ cup corn flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp. Glycerine
Dissolve corn flour in water, mixing well. Gently stir in remaining ingredients. Stir occasionally if you see the corn flour sitting on the bottom. Mix works better with more use.
