only those who attempt the absurd
TRANSCRIPT
Anyone know how long the longest stage of the Tour d’France was last year?
147 MilesI’m sure you’re all thinking that’s a long way!!
So if we told you that we’re planning on cycling 175 milesin 1 day you probably wouldn’t believe us
But we are, and you could too!
Lets put the scale of the challenge in perspective
Yes it’s longer than the longer Tour D’France stage this year, but what does that actually mean?
It’s the equivalent of travelling from East Hendred to Manchester (Or Torquay for the Southeners!)
14hrs in the saddle, turning the
pedals around 67,000 times
Anyone taking part will burn around
10,000 calories
Did you know?
1 in 400 children in the UK is born with cerebral
palsy
55% of disabled children grow up in, or on the
margins of poverty
Footsteps Centre

children and young adults (3-25 years) with
cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, epilepsy, other
neurological and neuromotor disorders and
undiagnosed conditions

cognitive and speech development of children,
as well as increase their confidence and
independence
Footsteps Foundation

access the Footsteps Centre’s physiotherapy
programme
Aims to raise £175,000 through voluntary
fundraising
in 2015
Around 150 children attend Footsteps each year
and 60% of these receive funding from Footsteps
Foundation.
Let’s start with why we’re doing it
Because it’s a massive challenge, and everyone loves a challenge
Because it’ll be a great personal achievement for anyone who takes part, something you’ll remember and talk about for years to come
Because we’re a little bit mad……
Let’s start with why we’re doing it
