Overview

• CBRS Alliance is an industry forum created to champion 3GPP

based RANs in the CBRS Band (3550-3700 MHz) in accordance

with FCC Part 96 Rules

• Information on FCC Part 96 can be found at:

– The Part 96 rules can be found at: https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/ECFR,

select Title 47, Chapter 1, Volume 5, Part 96

– WInnForum webinar: Understanding the New US 3.5 GHz Band at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ2a4ZRjGgE&t=304sNote: This Webinar is from June 2015 and a couple of the FCC rules have since been

revised, but webinar remains an excellent overview. WInnForum has additional Webinars on

CBRS available on youtube.

OnGo™ Certification Process: 4 Simple Steps

1. Vendor submits certification request with device information

– Vendor needs to be a CBRS Alliance member

2. Vendor/ATL uploads necessary documentation

– ATL performs testing & obtains FCC ID

– Reuse of test results from FCC Part 96 Authorization is possible

3. CBRS Alliance Certification Board reviews test results

– Certification PM works with ATL/vendor to resolve issues

4. CBRS Alliance grants OnGo™ certification

CBRSA Identifiers

• LTE Home Network Identifier (HNI) Only Has 3 Digits– 6-digit Public Land Mobile Network – ID

– 3 digit country code

– 3 digit network code

– Not enough for lots of OnGo networks

• CBRSA’s Has A Shared Home Network Identifier (SHNI) (315-010)– Can be used by any OnGo network

– Overloaded on existing LTE Closed Subscriber Group field

• Other IDs Needed to Ensure Uniqueness– Mobility Management Engine Group Identifier (MMEGI)

• 1 per roaming area

– Macro eNB ID• 1 per eNodeB (CBSD)

• IMSI Block Number (for SIMS) Administered by US IMSI Admin– imsiadmin.com
