OneDrive User Guide for iOS

Please note that OneDrive can use up a lot of mobile data – so make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi before using this app to avoid running out of data. OneDrive User Guide for iOS

OneDrive is automatically installed on your device, open the OneDrive application and it should automatically log you in, if not please sign in with your normal BHCC Email Address & password. How to turn on Automatic Camera Upload

OneDrive gives you the ability to back up your photos & videos automatically to OneDrive so if you lose your phone you’ll have a backup online – its recommended that all users enable this feature. 1. To enable this feature please tap on your Initials (top-left corner) and then tap “Settings”.

2. Tap on “Camera Upload”. 3. “Toggle/Tap” the button next to your Email Address. 4. Tap on “Confirm” to allow OneDrive access to your Photos, then tap on “Allow” to send you notifications.

OneDrive will now automatically back up (on Wi-Fi) all the Photos & Videos that are on your iPhone to your OneDrive BHCC Account (may take a while to upload everything on your phone depending on the size of the files). Enable OneDrive to use your mobile data By default, OneDrive is set to only use Wi-Fi – if you need to urgently send a file to someone where you have no Wi-Fi then you can temporarily turn the “Use Mobile Network” setting on.

Please remember to turn this setting OFF once you’re finished otherwise it will attempt to back up all your Photos & Videos through mobile data which will run out very quickly. To confirm what photos & videos have been backed up to OneDrive, you can double check this by going to this link on any BHCC device & signing in with your BHCC Email Address & password: https://brightonandhovecc-my.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/MySite.aspx?MySiteRedirect=AllDocuments

You will see all the files that have been stored on your OneDrive account, these can be shared with anyone in BHCC by clicking on a file and select “Share”. You can see the photos & videos that have been backed up from your device by clicking on the folder “Pictures” “Camera Roll”. OneDrive automatically arranges your photos & videos by Year & Month, so within the “Camera Roll” folder, you should see the current year, e.g. “2020” then click on the relevant month you want to see, e.g. “07” for July.

How to share a Video/Photo from your iPhone through OneDrive If you have “Automatic Camera Upload” enabled as shown above, then please connect to Wi-Fi and you should be able to find the photo or video you need to share by going directly to OneDrive “Pictures” “Camera Roll” “2020” (Year you took the photo/video) “07” (Month you took the photo/video) as shown below.

If you can’t see the photo or video within OneDrive, then you will have to manually upload the file to OneDrive.

First, select what folder within OneDrive you want to upload your file to (e.g. Pictures), then

tap the “+” button (top-right corner) and select “Upload” then tap “Photos and Videos”.

This then shows your iPhone’s Photos and Videos, select the file that you want to upload/share then tap “Done”. This will start uploading the file to your selected folder, please wait as it can take some time (please connect to Wi-Fi). Once the file has finished uploading it will eventually appear in the folder you selected above.
