ADELAIDE ARCHERY CLUB NEWSLETTER
OCTOBER 2018 PAGE 1
A LAUREL AND HARDY EVENT
The club meeting on Friday 19 October was a
challenge for new vice-president, Attila Balla.
As Daniel Caon was away he was obliged to
chair the first meeting that he attended in that
position.
However, he did a fine job, with a little
coaching from Carol Ashlee, and a great many
humorous contributions from the floor.
Melissa Balla acted as secretary, and Kylie
Steyn attended her first meeting as
treasurer.
Congratulations
Keith Bown Winner of the
September Handicap Spoon
Topics from the club meeting Friday 19 October
Next beginners course in November: Coaching
assistants needed; please add your names to
James’s list on the board.
The recorder, Naomi Johnson, noted that 195
rounds were recorded in September, compared
with 185 last year.
The format for the Christmas break-up will be:
Juniors shoot in the morning;
Shared lunch with seniors;
Seniors shoot in the afternoon (any ideas for a nov
elty shoot or event? Let the tournament director,
Chris de Mello, know) followed by afternoon tea.
Should we continue with the Memorial Shoot as
only 8 past members attended this year? It was
proposed that we will shoot it in 2019, and in 2020
it will take place on 29 August to coincide with dig-
ging up the time capsule. Shooting committee to
decide

Beginners join our club for all sorts of reasons,
but we like to think that one of them is that we
are a friendly, helpful bunch.
So give them a hand if they don’t know what to
do - for example, opening and closing butts,
closing the flags, recording lost arrows.
