Content Optimization
Content Optimization• Content of page
All good content has two attributes. Good content must supply a demand and must be linkable.
• Good content supplies a demand:
Just like the world’s markets, information is affected by supply and demand. The best content is that which does the best job of supplying the largest demand.
• Good content is linkable:
From an SEO perspective, there is no difference between the best and worst content on the Net if it is not linkable. If people can’t link to it, search engines will be very unlikely to rank it, and as a result the content won’t drive traffic to the given website.
Unfortunately, this happens a lot more often than one might think. Examples of this include, AJAX powered image slide shows, content only accessible after logging in and content that can't be reproduce or shared. Bad content does not supply a demand and/or it is not linkable. It is rampant all over the Internet and a waste of time and other precious resources.

Page Structure and Layout
Table Vs CSS (two column / three column layouts)
menu Content
Layout without table trick
Empty Cell
Content
menu
Layout with table trick
Instead of this You would get this
Coding for Table Trick<table><tr><td><!-- an empty table cell --></td><td rowspan="2">The content of the page goes here. </td></tr><tr><td>The navigation menu goes here.</td></tr></table>
URL
The following is a good example of URL structure:http://www.dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/History/
The following is a bad example of URL structure:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/
URL structure is important because it helps the search engines to understand relative importance and adds a helpful metric to the given page. It is also helpful from an anchor text perspective relevancy because people are more likely to link with the relevant word or phrase if the keywords are included in the URL.
Internal Linking
The goal of creating internal links is to help your visitors (and the search engines) find all your pages; not just the newer articles linked from your homepage, but also the older reference articles which might have drifted down in your archives, and are hard to reach. If you’re not placing 3much emphasis on those pages, why should the search engines?
By internally linking from other relevant pages within your website, you’re essentially voting for your own content within your site. It’s possible to rank in the top 10 for many search queries, purely on internal links alone.

Internal LinkingHere are some ideas on how you can create more internal links on your site:
• Create in-content links, where you can reference a related topic from an article.
• Put a list of related topics at the end of an article, so that visitors can keep reading other stories on your site.
• Create a human-readable sitemap which provides an easy way to browse to all the content on your site.
• Repurpose your content into reference guides which link out to all the different articles on the subject.

An Ideally Optimized Web page• An ideal web page should do all of the following:• Be hyper-relevant to a specific topic (usually a product or single
object)– Include subject in title tag– Include subject in URL– Include subject in image alt text– Specify subject several times throughout text content
• Provide unique content about a given subject• Link back to its category page• Link back to its subcategory page (If applicable)• Link back to its homepage (This is normally accomplished with an
image link showing the website logo on the top left of a page.)
