Successful Implementation of Suicide Prevention Training for Faculty and Staff (Kognito Training) Faculty and Staff: Sierra College has a new and innovative training called “Kognito” , made possible by a grant from the California Community College Foundation. It’s designed to equip you with vital tools that will help you to assist and refer students who are distressed or in crisis. This brief training will enable you to effectively:

1. Identify students experiencing high levels of distress or crisis 2. Approach and discuss your concern with the student 3. Make effective referrals to support services (if necessary)

Each Kognito training module is a 30- 45 minute interactive, user friendly, online avatar simulation of real-life scenarios with guided responses. We believe you will find this training to be highly beneficial.
