Everyone had an enjoyable session learning about Indonesian culture on Wednesday last week. The Gamalan and martial arts workshops were terrific. See photos attached.

A big shout out and thank you goes out to our office administration staff Jenny and Karen for keeping the machine so well oiled. These wonderful ladies work tirelessly to keep the running of our school so efficient. Between attending to children’s needs, answering phones, processing money and notes, financial management, attending to teachers and parent requests, they are always warm & welcoming. So, from the bottom of our hearts we say thank you. Also thanks to Alan and Angela for keeping our school looking spic and span. You are a big part of our school community and it doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you for your contribution to our school.

Thank you to Ellie for beautiful pasta for lunches on Friday.

Many thanks

NO LUNCH ORDERS THIS WEEK

The Wild Weather By Marley Jones Year 2

I was shivering. It was basically a lake outside. I heard the cracking of branches but I was not scared. It was exciting.

My sister was going to Clunes with my Mum. On the way there they heard a rumbling noise. The car broke down. They had a flat tyre. My Dad looked at the tyre and it looked like someone cut it with a knife. Luckily my Dad was able to change the tyre.

The next day we went to pick up the car. It worked so we drove it back down to my house. We went around Lismore to look at the floods. I mean we were going to Lismore but we only made it to Corndale. There was a giant flood. Our next door neighbours car was in it. You could only see a tiny bit of the car. I went in the flood with my shoes on. I barely went in but the flood went just over my shoes.

SRC FUNDRAISERThe SRC are conducting a fundraiser for our neighbours in Fiji. After the recent catastrophic cyclones much money was pledged but a lot of it never came to fruition. Fiji still needs our help and Coorabell students are ready to do what they can. The students are manning a stall every morning where children and community members can have a guess at trying to work out which of 11 baby photos belong to which staff member. A fun hamper for kids is the prize and all the money raised will go to Fiji. It costs a gold coin donation or more if you wish to donate more.
